Default What to do, need advice

Well, i have saved my exhaust manifold, and stock cats. There just sitting in my laundry room, taking up space. To make this story short, i know a guy that blew his Z NA, all he had was test pipes and headers. Even though this should be covered in his warranty, NISSAN decided, to be a d1ck, and told him "the test pipes did it". They actaully threatend him, with the EPA, and some big fine!!

His first mistake was going to nissan, well actually im sure there are alot of them, but NISSAN will not give him his car back unless he provides, cats, and the stock mani's. He offered to buy mine. I didnt think they were worth that much, until......i called nissan, my first attemp to get a price was...quickly disconnected...They would not give a price, unless i told them my VIN, and insurance. The second time, i had a friend that has a dealership, call for me....OH MY GOD~!!! EACH CAT IS 867.00, and the manifold are about the same.

Now heres the delimma, i dont need my cats, and manifold. If i ever had a problem with my car, Nissan is the last place i will go. They aint gonna give me the "stiffy", but im sure the guy that needs my cats, probaly got rid of his, thinking he will never ever need them, now he does. I might get in a situation one day, where my car is converted back to stock, (hell freeze over)

Ok, so what should i do, Sell mine or keep them, what should i sell them for?? Also, keep in mind, i just bought a carbon fiber hood and spoiler, which set me back JUST A LIL~!! Im not hurting for cash at all, but this would kind of pay for it and some bills. No, i dont know the guy that well. I said i want at least 1000.00 for my cats.

alright guys i wanna see 2 pages on here, i need some input

Actually, in TX, it is illegal to sell used cats to anyone but a core buyer with an EPA license. That being said, do not conduct this sort of business in the public eye. As far as your price......LOL. The EPA guys pay roughly $30 each. He can buy brand new cats for near $100 each and have them welded in-line or buy high flow cats (legal) for around $400. I own a salvage yard in Houston. PM me his info. I can probably get those manifolds for near $50 each.

funny...when i moved out of my shop i threw out probably 8 sets of stock headers and 6 sets of stock cats.

when i first started working at SVS i reorganized some massive storage containers, one had 10 years of removed cats all piled up (mostly massive viper V10 cats), we got a couple grand, I believe, for them all from a recycler... i guess they have platinum in them!! seriously!

I hope you didn't get taken advantage of or it was long ago because the price of catalytic material is way up now. Even the smallest ones get near $20 each and the huge ones go near $200.

Thanx, yeah im not gonna do it, and risk getting in trouble. I knew something was weird when NISSAN wanted my info. This guy doesnt post on here, ill send him your info. The thing is...NISSAN has his car right now, and will only let him put NISSAN cats, and exhaust MANi's onm or he cant pick up his car. Yup there holding his car, until it has stock stuff on. Thats why i considered selling my cats and mani's, to get his car out. I think he's gonna be screwed anyway you put it, because even if he gets cats and a mani's. is NISSAN gonna be like, where'd you get this. Damn i dont even know this guy. Thanx=saving my ***
