Default Cylinder 5 Misfire code??????

Hey whats going on guys. Like I stated in my previous thread, I was going to swtich to the RC 550cc Injectors. Those were installed yesterday, once they were installed and scaled down. We got a flashing service engine light and the code read cyclinder 5 misfire. I dont understand how I got this code? My tuner thinks the gaskets are bad because they were taken off quite a bit. Thats where we are right now, and waiting for new gaskets from Nissan. Does anybody know what could of caused this? The injectors were wired perfectly and are all good injectors.

Any help would be greatly Appreciated !

Sincerely,
Dil Dhillon

YEs one side of the exhaust is blowing OUT smoke, while the other very little. Very rough at idle, and stalls.

there you go, look on 350motoring.com search for a thread by internetabyss or search for expensive gas post, JOTECH had to fix this car, because the guy paid his friend to do his kit and somehow the car got messed up, all i remember is that he told me he was driving it and got in to boost heard a pop, and smoked screen. I thought he blew his motor, to find out his gas needle was messed up and had no gas, fixed that...car still smokes.....checked the injectors...BINGO.....whats so funny is that his car got fixed and he still talked ****

How can one side of the exhaust blow smoke if you have TN which has the headers join into 1 pipe for the turbo?

rc checks their injectors before they ship out, so that lessens the chance of it being an injector prob. does it toss the code up during normal driving or at first start up? is there any condition that triggers it? what engine management are you using? i very highly doubt that it is gaskets. even if it was a huge leak, the ecu has a very tough time figuring exactly what cylinder is misfiring. it only reads a misfire off of engine rpm, so it can be off even a few cylinders.
need more info on the exact conditions that triggers this. do you hear a misfire? does it go away during normal driving? here to help, just need more info.

Well I drove around for a mile, then the ses light came on, flashing and the code was cyclinder 5 misfire, so then let the car idle and ran liek ****, I am using a UTEC for emu.

they do check their injectors but i had a set of 650cc for my rsx, and when i drove about 5 miles after install, one quit on me so its possible. its also possible that the wiring on/to the injector is messed.

Have you checked your plugs?

when you change out the gaskets, swap the coil and the injector to different cylinders. like your current #5 coil pack to #1 and that injector to #3. see if the code follows one of them.

What method are you using on the UTEC to scale the injectors. Try zeroing out the injector scalling, and just subtract fuel from the 0% load column. Also, how much fuel pressure are you running?

New update: .... Well they switched the injectors around, checked the wires and replaced intake manifold gaskets.... still same old CRAP... They ran a compression test and every cylcinder but 5 was 200psi and 5 was 180psi.... Now they are telling me they are going to take apart the engine and check the pistons, one of the rings could be bad... THIS SUCKS, NOTHING was wrong before the 550cc injectors... and now this...

Yes they switched both... they think the injector could of leaned out and May have caused a SMALL crack in the piston, we checked the spark plugs and everything and they were fine. SO As of right now I am not even going TO BOTHER with replacing a ring which is like 10 bucks.. but the big part is take the engine apart and maybe out... which costs $$$, So as of right now I am having them just put in Wiesco Pistons and new head gaskets. So a partial engine build, but still stock rods. They are going to find out for sure tomorrow of what happened.

what kind of injectors are they? If they are RC's check the wiring first. One of the local guys here received a bad set of harness clips a while back, one injector was wired wrong. Easy fix.
Man that really sucks.
