since you bought your kit from AAM, I suggest you get their oil pan spacer as well

Our oil pan spacer fits perfectly on the T-Netics kit. It retails for $149.99 for the spacer and $89.99 for the pre-terminated,pressure tested ready to bolt on your car, oil line.

i'll be running the JWT spacer. AFAIK there's no specific spacer for the TN kit, as you can drill/tap it anywhere you need/want.

Oil drain hoses are suppose to dump the oil above the oil level in the pan. If they don't you will have smoke/seal problems from the backed up oil and the foam in the returning oil is supposed to disipate before it goes into the oil pump pickup tube.

This is a touchy subject and like a$$holes everybody has one. Many reputable companies like HKS drain back into the stock oil pan bolt location, and into oil. I tapped my JWT spacer, many others have as well I havent had an issue. Due what you feel is best, but dont go around spreading fear. AFAIK Phunk (very knowledgable member-pushed stock block to 460whp+ over 1 year ago) runs his "under oil level" and also believes if the line is big enough, you wont have any problems, obviously I feel the same.

I've never seen a factory return line below oil level. Maybe they just want to save money on the length of the hose.

I guess my friend that retired from Garrett is wrong.
By the way how much oil film/puddles do you have in your intake/plenum?

Did I say from the factory? Quote where I said that...I said many reputable companies do that-learn to read before you go trying to be smart a$$-you do what you want, Ill do what I want, others will do what they want, lets agree to disagree<----like I started my original post before you got upset I disagreed with your buddy. BTW my NA Z had a slight oil film in the plenum when I swapped plenums/injectors, whats your point?

I was pointing out that OEM engineers don't ever do it for some reason.
The aftermarket does what they do because it's cheaper, easier, and no do-it-yourselfer will acidentaly leave metal shaving in the tapped holes in the pan, along with the pan thickness that doesn't make tapping very good or strong.

Go read Hugh MacInnes's book on turbocharging, it explains exactly why.
I am not out to "scare" people , just inform.
Sorry, I wasted my breath, not again.
