Default This kit vs that kit...what it really boils down to...

I'm certainly not one to write a treatise or feel good article but after today I just felt like it. With all the back and forth these days on what kit is better, what kit has this, what kit has that, it can be mind numbing and to some you lose site of why you even turbo'd your Z. To have a car with the power potential of cars easily double its cost and to hear that wonderful sound of turbos spooling combined with the rush of tq coming up under you. Sometimes its good to just get out on the open road and give your car a good thrashing and come away excited all over again about your car. Even going to the track can't give you this feeling all the time. At the track theres constant worries of other cars, passing this guy, pulling best laptimes, etc. For me today was just another Sunday. My wifes out of town on business and I really had nothing to do. So when I woke up and saw a cloudless San Diego day ahead of me I decided what the heck. I'm going to just go drive. I check my oil level and tire pressure, topped of my gas tank and hit Harmony Grove Rd (if you live in SD with a boosted Z and haven't driven this road, get off the computer and go drive it). Harmony Grove Rd is a never ending series of S turns, sweeper, and a couple of long straights. Its less traveled roads where traffic is almost never a problem. I killed the radio, cell phone, Blackberry for work, etc and just drove. For about an hour in each direction its just you and your car. No laptimes, no worries about what you have to do when you get home, no arguments about spool up time just you, the car, and the road. After an hour of driving and really letting my car have it I just sat back and cruised the return route home. Just hearing the turbo spool, feeling the cars response to throttle inputs and turn in, just everything was perfect. Call it sentimental call it lame call it what you want but today when I got home I was excited about having my Z all over again. I've given thought lately to getting rid of my Z and moving on and each time I chose not to but after today I know theres no way I could let this car go. I may not be in the "400" club right now, I may not have a "fuel return setup" right now, heck I KNOW I'm not the fastest Z in Socal right now but today none of that mattered. Today it was just my turbo Z and a long exciting road.

Well I can't believe it either. But I think it was more a thing of possibly starting a family soon. After 7 years the wife is having little Rob thoughts....but after today I think I may just buy a sports sedan used as child transport. She has a Titan so shes set there..

Dear Jim...

Are you per chance familiar with the concept of something called "a joke"?
There is a J/K on the bottom of the post, in case you've overlooked it...
MIA is such a TN single turbo fanatic, I'm sure that even he found this one amusing...
