Just trying to gather some info on the Scott Performance Turbo cams, Would like to see the gains and a dyno plot to see what they do throught the RPM range. If anyone out there is using them I really appreciate your help, Thanks!

Just buy the JWT's. Save a couple bux.

 

Scott's cams are FI cams, low overlap, high duration. That's what you want in FI! It'd be nice to know how high the gains go on the rpm range.

 

They are VERY close to JWT cams. Trust me I know this.

Aw shiet Ill get the specs. After he screwed me I had them speced and they were VERY close to JWT's. Yes I went that far.

 

I am still puzzled by Dastek dyno plots. How can you properly tune a car, if you are only given 8-10 data points, and the rest is extrapolated?? Any irregularities in the power curve will be masked by the extrapolation.

 

That is weird, how can you accurately see the powerband, hmm. Does it do it only on the print out version or is the actual screen like this aswell.

 

This is the print out... The screen of the dastek dyno is actually different than this throughout the duration of tuning.

 

I'm pretty sure that it's justa barebone printout...it has continuous resolution when tuning.

I wonder why the dyno operator can't print out a full resolution graph. 500rpm increments doesnt cut it.

just run JWT.. clark designed the cams for nismo and made the jwt ones a bit better. or go the ebay route from china made with new bullits copies of JWT same stuff i had them side by side and could not tell a difference

 

Can you eyeball 4 degrees of duration.....it's pretty hard but makes a big difference IMHO. Did you measure them at all? Just curious.

 

no i couldnt but side by side eyeballing loooked exact =) i konw they are the same though. jwt is pissed their stuff got copied

 

I was thinking the exact same thing. And there is no way to determine the quality of steel used in making the camshafts, the longevity etc. I am certainly not knocking product made in China, but it's very disturbing that others are knocking off USA product, in which companies have spent thousands of dollars in R&D time and effort, in order to produce products for the VQ35 community...only to have them replicated in China.

 

that is totally true sharif i dont konw the quality of the stock they are using but who knows. I myself are going to be running the JWT cams since i got a set already
