Default twin turbo + internal modding

hi everyone, i'm not new to the forums but i haven't posted in a long time. I was wondering how much boost/power you can pull out of the stock internals after putting on a turbo kit. i'm lookin at the greddy tt, or the turbonetics single turbo, and possibly the vortech supercharger kit. I want to run them safely as a daily driver without blowing any internals. how much whp do you think i can make safely on the stock internals daily? do you think its worth even buying a turbo kit if i'm not planning on upgrading internals anytime soon, probably 6-8 months after installing it. thanks

kaminariZ- I am running a greddy kit @ 450whp stock internals as my daily driver. Where in Chicago are you from? I am in the nw burbs. Charles did my install and tune, and I couldnt be happier. Hit him up and he will set you in the right direction.

bigbri is running 550rwhp / 490rwtq on stock internals for a few months now. He drives it hard all the time, and it's still running strong. It all depends on how much you want to invest in before you build up the internals.

Cams, 100+ octane, water/alcohol injection, and a good tune would get you to that ballpark reliably.

It all depends on how well the car is tuned. If its done well, you never know, like you see, you can get 550 with stock internals, but if the tune goes bad, your engine will not forgive you, at all. She will go pop. To be on the safe side ive been told anything above 425-450, then you should look at least changing your rods.
Personally i want to be on the super safe side, so even though i'm only going for about 425 whp, i'm gonna go for the best of the best and all forged internals. The standard block is said to be able to hold about 600 whp, after that they recomend sleeving it.
Again, this is only what i've been told by many tuners on many other forums, but not personal experience.

you're really looking at 3 very different setups there man. Seriously. a TT vs. a ST vs. S/C.

I think you need to take the time to research the benefits of each setup, and just exactly what each setup is capable of, and then make your decision based on that. A good tuner can tune anything.

thanks everyone. I live in Long grove, in the nw burbs too. i just talked to charles and i'm convinced in getting the greddy tt, test pipes, injen true dual, some other fuel mods, and engine management. i'm just shootin for like 425whp reliably as a daily driver and thats it. charles helped out a crapload. i'm really lookin forward to workin with him on my project and goals. thanks

whoever convinced you of the injen true dual isn't too bright . the internal diameter of those is like less than 1 7/8". You'd be better off wiht a single 3" diameter, honestly.

IF you are planning to go TT, then you should go straight to a 3inch true dual setup. Even at low boost, you will see nice power gains. Most of them are priced right around $1495. We're running the AAM 3 inch true dual setup. Sounds awesome, and the performance has been spectacular. We just tuned a Greddy TT car on stock internals at about 7.5psi, hit 437whp with test pipes and the 3 inch AAM true dual: http://www.forgedinternals.com/store...cat=258&page=1
Same one I'm using on my car, at 600whp+.
