Default Prices/location for Xylene or Toluene?

The local Home Depot doesn't sell toluene, and a gallon of Xylene is $14.99 Anyone know of any online retailers, etc. that can provide a more competitve price?

Sherwin Williams the paint store should have it. But why would you want that, when you can just buy race gas.

When mixed at reasonable levels it can be a much cheaper alternative to throwing in some race gas. I've used it before on my SR20 when the whether gets really hot. Tuned in 70degree whether and going to the track on a 90degree day. 5$ worth or Toluene and you feel alot better about your motor than with 10$ or more worth of 112.

I've done it for over a year. No problems what so ever. Sherwin Williams, $6.00 a gallon.

I ask for a number of reasons:

Having slight detonation on occasion. Gas in AZ is 91 as best. There is no readily available supply of race gas on my side of the Valley - at least an hour drive to Scottsdale to get a gallon of 100 octane at $7.99/gallon. Since Xylene is 117 octane (toluene 114), I figured it to be a better value (as long as it's mixed appropriately with MMO or another additive). I'm not looking for anything remarkable, just a gallon of Xylene to 16 gallons of 91 should bring me to around 93 - 94 octane...

I'm just a bit reluctant to pay $15/gal for a gallon of Xylene, ya know?

Tolulene destroys any rubber in the fuel system over time such as seals and hoses.

Understood - but toluene/xylene is already found in commercial gasolines - not running it straight - just a 1:10 ratio additive/pump gas.

Yeah, I posted on it a while back...its poor mans 96'ish octane when mixed with 93 octane super unleaded. 3-4 gallons per fill up..max, as ethanol is also tough on rubber and fuel system components, unless you car is specfically designed to take E85.
