Default my engine failed leak down test!!

so i found out why my valve cover was leaking oil..

leaky rings on 2 or 3 of my pistons, I forget the exact #'s but something like 65-80%. NOT GOOD.

the leak was allowing boosted air back into the crankcase & pressurize it.

now the good news. Its time to build!!!

off we go.....

Oh man that sucks. Sorry to hear that good luck with it in the future...how much oil were you losing? Was your car feeling sluggish?

ati procharger, 7lbs, ati's stock set-up with j&s, smooth a/f high 10's, low 11's
375hp, 325tq, stock injectors. no noticable detonation
engine was/is running fine, no noticable loss of power, just lots of oil squeezing out of the valve cover at the spark plugs wells, due to leakage into the crank...

hey bailey, i'm the guy you got the ati from, lol. don't feel bad, i had broken ring lands on 4 pistons and 5 visibly bent rods, hahhaa. yes from the same exact ati kit. and yes it was good news to me also as it gave me the excuse to build the motor at that point.
you plan on keeping the ati or moving to turbo?

West Chester Nissan in PA has had several engine replacements in 350's with very high leak through. Always in cyl #2. One of the techs told me it was because these owners were not changing their oil for unknown miles.

I'm not trying to say you didn't change your oil enough, but maybe your engine was fuel washing the cylinder walls or something. What cylinders were leaking?

bailey:

With that A/F ratio, it sounds like too much timing. How did you have your J&S set up?
