Default Exhaust Note With TT Setup?

I'll try to make this quick. I have the Borla TD exhaust system with a JWT Pop Charger and I LOVE the sound of my car. I've been thinking about going FI and I got a ride in an APS TT Z33 the other day and what a ride!!!!! Talk about putting your aZZ in the seat!!!!! But his car was more quiet than stock!!!!

My question is, will I loose much of my beloved exhaust note, in the trade off of gaining so much horsepower?

Thanks!
Mark

Turbos do tend to act like mufflers, so yes, the sound of the car will change. The reason that APS is so quiet is a) internal wastegates and b) quiet BOV. I don't know which exhaust did your frient use, but theirs is not much loder then stock. Very civilized kit it is.
If you like to HEAR your power, then maybe, instead of the APS you want to look into the Greddy TT (or SFR if you're rich). You'll hear the external wastegates , you can add the loudest BOV, you can get the dump pipes from SVRTech...
You'll get a good concert out that setup...

APS is quite loud at open throttle buddy, but nice and civil at half or so, you get more of a sleeper sound

When I installed my APS TT kit, the exhaust note changed a bit and got a little quieter, all with the stock exhaust. The APS TD exhaust and Labree testpipes that I just ordered will surely bring it back louder than before...

I have pretty much have this setup... Trust me, it is ok at idle and low throttle, but when I hit peak boost.... It sounds like a drag car is right next to you... When the dumps open is gets crazy loud

I just installed an APS Tall Boy Plenum, the new APS 3.5" turbo back test pipes, and the new 3" APS TD exhaust. My APS TT went from quiet to sounding louder than most N/A cars! Its ground shaking....sounds like the car is tearing up the road.

+1. I have SGP dump tubes with 3" test pipes and 3" true dual exhaust. It has a really deep tone, but sounds like a Nascar when I hit peak boost. I love it!

Here's a little vid from inside the car.

No problem. If you want to hang out and hear mine sometime let me know.
If you have time on Saturday March 4th, a bunch of NOVA, DC, MD and even some people from PA and NJ, are going to be at AAM for a dyno day and then a cruise up to Sugerloaf Mountain. You can hear a bunch of different exhaust setups then, both sitting still, on the dyno and at WOT on the cruise.

Check out the thread here…

There is a thread here for people meeting that morning off of route 50 at Evolution.

https://my350z.com/forum/mid-atlantic/173590-meeting-up-for-the-drive-to-aam-bbq-dyno-day-in-nova-on-march-4th.html

Anyway, good luck on your choice. I am sure you will love whatever you get.
