1273 and 1284 are rear O2 sensor codes. Left and Right bank.

it is saying your front 02 sensor on the right or passenger side was reading rich for an over extended period of time. 1283 is the opposite side front 02 reading lean. could have been a minor clitch in the cam timing.
i would just clear it and see if it comes back.

I had that issue when I first installed the APS injector harness... Bank 1 was too lean, Bank 2 was too rich. flipped the injector harness and viola!

I understand this has NO applicability to your TN situation, but just wanted to share one reason/one outcome.

I keep getting these two codes day in day out. What could be the cause? I checked my O2 and they seem fine.

Do your downpipes have the O2 sensor extenders welded on? If not just replace the downpipe with a new one from Turbonetics. My car first got those codes. Turbonetics then redesigned the donwpipe to add the O2 extenders. I think very few kits shipped without them but its something to check.

Don't mean to jack your thread JETPILOT, but is 1273 for the left or right bank? I'm throwing two of these codes.

a good way to remember is that bank 1 is the same side as cylinder 1. the paasenger side. 1273 is that side.

Yup, I have the downpipe with the extenders.

Yeah, I had this problem before. Bank 2 O2 was fine, and Bank 1 O2 was screwy. Voltages weren't constant, and had that replaecd. CEL code went away for about 500 miles and they are back. I don't think it could be the O2, they were just recently replaced and checked. What else could it be? I don't want to spend another $60 to get an ODB diag.

There was a TSB a while back from Nissan regarding the CEL being thrown by the O2. The only to fix it if you have the downpipe with the extensions is to take the car to Infiniti, apply the TSB, then send your ECU back to Turbonetics to be reflashed again.

I keep hearing about this. I know I have the original pipes but what exactly is the difference.

I am hoping not to run into the problem AFTER I do my fuel system/injectors/tune (in a week or so) especially as I may coat the pipes. I have not seen those codes to date though...well not since it has got cool here that is.

If you have never thrown the codes then you probably have the correct pipes.

Well the shop that installed the kit also installed Down-Shift's and they mentioned the difference. SO I assume I have the originals pipes...I got in on that original GB from AAM so it could have been one of the early kits.

What exactly is the difference? Any pics that show it?
