don't do it.
i wasted the entire afternoon yesterday experimenting with the Revup Lower plenum on my 03 287hp engine..
you'll notice a difference all right, crap *** torque loss at 3k and just a little bit more top end pull right before redline..
imho not worth it.. i like my low end grunt characteristics (good for powering out of turns and drifting) so maybe its not such a good idea..
ill have picts of the physical differences...
but yea.. it sucked... perhaps if i could rev up to 8k, maybe, but the top end gain wasnt worth my time... i swapped my 287 lower plenum back on....

I tired it as well this past week. I put it on and semi-tuned with a UTEC. I can say the power loss down low sucked, and oddly enough-the power fell off a lot faster after 6200rpm's, where as the 287 plenum didnt fall off much up top with the TN kit. Im gonna finish tuning it, and post before and after numbers. But from the looks of things it doesnt work well. I used to make 260whp @ 3800rpm's now I make it at 4200rpm's
I should quantify my statement...I've only seen it done on an NA setup, not FI
this is NOT a mod for the FI guys (phyiscs tells you that), but for the NA guys, it can prove worthwhile if you have a means to tune

Bump - anyone have a reason why the revup lower plenum could be causing the power to drop off quicker than with the stock plenum? The more I think about it, the more I want to swap back to stock before AAM finishes the tune on my car....I thought more volume+boost= more power, guess not.
I can tell you with 1000000% certainty that therev up plenum on both a rev up and regular "old" VQ35 does exactly what Cheston said. I knew this months ago, after attending ad helping out at a SZM plenum shootout.
The experiments ran where VERY strictly and consistently controlled. With the rev up plenum, you start gaining at about 6000 rpm though redline, peaking at 7hp gain (between the two curves). In the midrange, the difference between the two curves was inverse, but with FAR greater magnitude. At around 3000rpm, the difference was over 20 lb/ft, with gains staying at around 5-8 lb-ft on average through 4700 rpm or so (almost 5000).
So, keep the older plenum.
