is there a standard price to pay to upgrade the blower to a S trim or a T trim ? i know of a few people to do it. i believe booger has done it. Im curious to see how much the blower upgrade cost.

I think I've heard it's about $1300 for a new T-trim, might be wrong though

the S-trim is the same as the stock blower but quieter right? maybe even less power?

the T-trim is for more power

Im not really sure about the S-trim , I THINK they put a little larger blades in it . The T-trim is even larger blades and a bigger inlet . Its a different housing....same size housing with a bigger inlet

Have you guys looked at the Vortech website???

VORTECH V-1 S-TRIM SUPERCHARGER
The industry standard supercharger

Straight cut spur gear
Fits engines up to 680 horsepower
Maximum airflow: 1,000 CFM *
Maximum boost pressure: 20 PSI *
Maximum impeller speed: 50,000 RPM
Adiabatic efficiency: 72% **
Available with straight or curved discharge and clockwise or counterclockwise rotation

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

VORTECH V-2 SQ SC-TRIM SUPERCHARGER

Helical cut gear profile with SQ technology
Near silent operation
Fits engines up to 680 horsepower
Maximum airflow: 1,000 CFM *
Maximum boost pressure: 20 PSI *
Maximum impeller speed: 53,000 RPM
Adiabatic efficiency: 75% **
Available with straight or curved discharge

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VORTECH V-2 SQ (Super Quiet) SUPERCHARGER
The new generation supercharger included in most Vortech street supercharging systems
Helical cut gear profile with SQ technology
Near silent operation
Fits engines up to 680 horsepower
Maximum airflow: 1,000 CFM *
Maximum boost pressure: 20 PSI *
Maximum impeller speed: 50,000 RPM
Adiabatic efficiency: 72% **
Available with straight or curved discharge and clockwise or counterclockwise rotation
Click here for SQ S-Trim models

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VORTECH V-1 T-TRIM SUPERCHARGER
The supercharger of choice for street/strip vehicles with modified engines
Straight cut spur gear
Fits engines up to 825 horsepower
Maximum airflow: 1,200 CFM *
Maximum boost pressure: 26 PSI *
Maximum impeller speed: 55,000 RPM
Adiabatic efficiency: 73% **
Available with straight or curved discharge and clockwise or counterclockwise rotation
The S-Trim is Vortech's lowest model and the max rpm level is 3,000rpm's less than the SQ SC-Trim. The T-Trim only outflows the SQ SC-Trim by 2,000rpm's.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!

I am running 12psi on the SQ SC-Trim with 475whp. My tune is still very rich. I can easily get over 500whp once I upgrade ECU (UTEC) and the fuel system (CJM). Need more money first... taking donations...

If you want to upgrade, get a smaller pulley and run more boost. These posts drive me crazy because everyone wants to upgrade the blower when no one has even maxed out the one the kit comes with.

so the SQ is the stock blower then? So that means the other blowers are much much louder? Did vortech start using the SQ blower as standard recently or was it always that way?

I haven't learned all the details in their blowers yet because I haven't reached that point where I need to upgrade it yet (err or even get the thing on my car...)

It has always been the SQ SC-Trim. Makes you wonder what the other blowers sound like huh?

I also plan to upgrade to the 2.62 pulley after I swap out the ECU and fuel system. We will see if I can max out the blower... (FYI: my engine is built)

Im not trying to be a dick . But put that car on a load base dyno with out a correction for DynoJet numbers and see what whp your really making . McDuck claimed 425whp on the stock pulley and he put it on a load base Dyno and got 340whp . He then put the 3.12 pulley on and claimed 450whp and said it was a consevitive tune . When in realality it was more like 360whp. So basicly he was telling us he made 110whp on 1.5 more psi . And all it was .....was a tuner trick of adding a big correction factor to DynoJet numbers after he did the tuning .
The T-trim is a night and day difference from the stock blower with the 2.87 or not . It takes 14.7 psi on a blower to double the whp you run on a stock NA motor . And my load base dyno's are holding very true to that theory . As I was at 400whp at 13psi . Getting to 15psi should be with in my range and make it to the 440whp to 480whp , with the new mods to free up breathing of the blower and cats off .

There are a couple of guys that had thier blowers made into an S-trim and said they gained more psi sooner than the stock blower . And when I talked to the guys at Vortech about upgrading my blower and he said the first step up from what comes with our kit ....is the S-trim . Just from the stats on the web site isnt the tell all . You have to look at the compressor maps [ which I dont know how to read ] each build boost differently .

The SQ blowers are quiet because of the gear box on back of the blower . Not because of the blower it self

Bill, I wished you lived closer because I would like to see the difference. Just remember, most people don't want to knock something they paid money for. I am not saying that they are wrong. I just take everything I read on this website with a grain of salt. And people should view my posts no differently.

On a side note... I've called Vortech before and depending on who you get on the phone, well, let's just say that all of them don't know their product line.

Lou, how did your filter re-locate workout?
Also are you using a 2.87" pully?

I live in Concord (about 40 miles from S.F.), but I would gladly meet up with you if you have the time. PM me when you are heading out this way.
