Thumbs up Tuned my Turbonetics Z at AAM...

As some of you may or may not know my car made great power on the stock TN flash, but unfortunately it ran lean. Good on the dyno as far as making power but A/F dipped into the 12's midrange on the dyno and from 4000rpm's up on the street. I couldn't really drive it how I wanted or make a full 1/4 mile pass(on the street) due to this and the fact that I had occasional detonation.

Well, this past weekend I took my car to AAM for some goodies. UTEC with map sensor, 550cc injectors and the AAM Return Style Fuel System. For now I only had one map tuned, a 93 octane pump gas map. I had hit the numbers in my signature on another dynojet, on their dyno I hit 391whp 388 ft/lbs(10psi-under 40 degrees out), so that is my baseline.

I wasnt expecting a huge power jump on the same boost/octane especially because of my nice baseline but Mike managed to keep me happy. For you peak hp guys here is the final result. 396whp and 400ft/lbs witha PERFECT 11:1 A/F, nice and safe and much better than my high 11's low 12's on the dyno(which is leaner on the street). I am VERY impressed with how the car drives, the numbers dont do the tune justice. I had a weird lean idle on the TN kit (like others experience as well) and now perfect idle holding stoich A/F's with the 550cc's and UTEC. The car drives SOOOO much smoother, and that is what impressed me the most about this set-up. I'm very pleased with the tune, the car feels great. I gained 10-13whp and simialr TQ in sections of the midrange, so thats a plus and this was at 9psi due to it being 50-60 today.

I want to thank AAM, all the guys over there are friendly/helpful, but especially Mike who took time out to teach me the UTEC basics, which I apreciate. Anybody in MD/VA need anything done or need parts I would recommend them to you. I have done everything on the car myself, and this was the first time I let a shop touch my car and I couldnt be happier. Thanks again Mike/AAM.

Before spring we'll be doing a race gas tune with more boost, so we'll be going for bigger numbers for now Im more than happy, its nice to be able to boost without the car breaking up. Ill be at the track in 2 weeks, shooting for 11's. BTW I used to get a CEL with the TN flash within 30 miles of driving, so far 180 miles of boost everywhere with no CEL.

That's good to hear Bert. I convinced my wife to let me get the TN stage 1.5 (whenever that's released) so it looks like I'll be going to AAM for the tune. Now I'ma have to go for another ride in your car... the last one has now been voided!

Those are very respectable numbers, and that's a very nice looking Z as well. Congrats on the nice setup.

Very nice, Alberto. Do you have the dyno sheet? I'd like to see how you're building power down low.

Yep, gotta give it to AAM, they do good $hit. They have my car right now, we ran into a little injector problem, but thats all gettin fixed on monday. BTW, Alberto you said you heard my car at idle? I didnt even hear it yet, and i was there today, it was in the dyno bay, but they were trying to figure out the injector problem. You said it sounded sick, so ima take your word for it...lol...prolly cuz of the new exhaust they put on too...
