Ok so the unit is installed and we did some street tuning. Let me just say the car feels so much better. In 5th gear making less than 1/2 psi of boost we were doing almost 120mph at like 5900 rpm's. The response is so much better and in vacum the car is fast. I can't wait to really get on it. Tomorrow we hit the dyno.

You can get the Retail prices and part numbers from the HKS website:

http://www.hksusa.com/categories/?id=1069

For a full system for the VQ35 you need:

FCON V-Pro Part# 42012-AK001 = $1395.00

Knock Amp Part# 44006-AK001 = $890.00

VQ35 Wire Harness Part# 42002-AN005 = $495.00

Wideband 02 Sensor Part# 36531-P07-003 = $250

Map Sensor Part # 4299-RA008 = $225

Intake Air Temp Sensor Part# 4603-RA001 = $55

Map/Intake Air Sensor Harness Part# 4299-RA016 = $36.00

So it runs about $3350 for the complete system.

Hope that helps

As far as the wife she gave up on b!tching a while ago and she talks about leaving me all the time....blah blah blah! I just buy her chit and shut her the *** up. I got her a Lexus IS, new *****, and a new purse for Christmas. Notice I can play with two out of the 3 gifts.
Classic Gman2004. I love it.

Why did you have to go and post this gman?! I had JUST decided to drop the ball on the UTEC, now you got me second guessing

Could someone quickly tell me what I'd be missing out on if I went with UTEC over the much more expensive HKS setup?

In a nutshell....closed loop fuel control. The fcon with the knockamp does what the eu does as in target af.

Meaning that....if the temp drops 20 degrees overnight, the HKS will change my tune accordingly?

the Fcon setup will run you nearly 4k or a little above it but after seeing gman's cars and the results i think its worth it. me personally im looking forward to this setup but it will have to be when i get built motor and every other component ifr you want big power and reliability i think the f con is the way to go. failsafe talk to mark at sgp he should guide and explain it way better then i can.

BTW one thing that he told me about my car is that if i would get this set-up he could make my car flat shift while imj racing and the thing would shoot like 6 foot flames which i thought its kind of nice but obviously i wouldnt get it just for suck a thing like that.

What is the bare minimum of parts to get the hks f-con to work? I plan on using this EM but all those parts seem overkill for me at this stage.

Thanks booger. Notice how I got numbers with no dyno jet correction factor? Funny thing is I ask the dyno owner if he had any correction factor before we did any runs and he said yes.....12%. I told him to take that chit off. He said the numbers were going to be low and I said that's ok if I wanted dyno jet numbers I would go to a dyno jet.
