Thumbs up JWT twins on my 5AT G by VRT.

So here it is, my 5at with the JWT kit installed by the pimps at VRT. For those that don't know this is a JWT kit installed on a stock motor and stock auto tranny. VRT and JWT agreed on tuning it a bit conservatively as this is the first auto tranny (that I'm aware of) with the JWT kit installed. It made about 411hp on the dyno, but we decided to back it off to about 360. We want to feel it out and retune for more power as we get comfortable with what we think the tranny can handle.

First impression, it runs great and is freakin quick. I was smiling the entire ride home to Vegas from San Diego. Shifting is smooth as silk, no different from stock. Ride is awesome, idles great. I can't wait to get it on a track. It blows through first and second gear like they don't exist. before you know it you're doing 80 in a 35... (apologize to your neighbors for me Michael )

Here are a few quick and dirty pics, more to come when I get some daylight. I forgot to ask for a copy of the dyno which might have to wait until the VRT crew gets back from racing at Laguna Seca. More to come...

VRT is really gaining momentum..I have to admit, at first the whole "this turbo kit or nothing at all" mentality they were portraying really turned me off about the entire company in generel, but as they continue to build some quick and reliabe(so far) cars, i think they have earned my vote as one of the many reputable companies for z and g owners...

I hate you all on the west coast for living so close to the VRT. Sucks for me that my "local" dealer/installer won't touch anything 5AT as far as the JWT kit is concerned....

P.S. Congratulations and thank you for proving that this kit will work on a 5AT. I will soon follow.

^^ VRT does not build JWT TT kits, they install FI kits. Only 2 shops are allowed to sell and install these kits. ForgedInternals is probably the 3rd location. .... However, I do agree, congrats to VRT on a succesful JWT TT install on a 5AT. VRT have gained some popularity lately with all their amazing cars.

its funny cuz like 5 months ago, everyone hated VRT. Shows how people here are so damn hard to accept new shops. I've knew from the beggining that for JWT to give them sole responsibility of installing their kit, they must be a helluva shop. Props yo

I have a AT z with the greddy twins made 377 rwhp on 6.5 to 7 pounds up to date my tranny is holding awsome (knock on wood) i will soon go for the 400 rwhp mark as i upgrade to w/g dumps with 3 inch turbo back testpipes and crank it up to 8 pounds. And nice to hear another AT Z/G with FI. Only thing needed know is those freakin clutch packs.

BTW at what PSI level did you make your 411 hp is this to the wheels or to the crank and what mods on it.

That was on a Dynapack. So I guess you could say it 411hp to the hubs? And I think that it was at 8 psi but I wasn't there so I'll let Scott or Michael confirm it when they get back from the track.

Did you have the REV limiter moved upwards ? At WOT I hit it 3 times out of 5 with my stock ECU and tranny.

I do have the Technosquare L-spec reflash which raises the rev limiter to 7200 rpm. I haven't hit the rev limiter yet, but it sure seems to get close. Not a real big deal since I normally drive in manumatic anyways.

After all of the cooling gets worked out the valve body upgrade will probably be the next priority.

Congrats on your kit. With the TS-L reflash you'll be fine in auto. I got it immediately after installing the Procharger and hitting the REV limiter almost every time. Even in Manumatic, unless I shifted at like 6000...

When you get the VB upgrade, do try the auto-mode. Car shifts SO fast !

If you can post up your Dyno sheet.I just dynoed my APS TT on a Dynapack and wanted to compare the results.Your 360whp seems about right on stock internals depending on how much boost you were running.
Also a suggestion about the tranny..You will burn up those clutchpacks fairly easily with that much HP since the tranny shifts pretty slow.I installed the SGP valve body for that reason and the shifts are intense and quick.I also installed a BM tranny supercooler which also helps..

Looking forward to your dyno sheet.
