I would like to get input as to weather or not anyone has experienced any A/C probs with turbo installs---- Now Im not talking burnt/grounded clutch feed wires due to improper reroute but more Comp failures due to heat/RPMs etc.Thanx
The only problem I had was how I mounted my intercooler with the turbonetics kit. The A/C has a sensor behind the intercooler(in front of the radiator), and its wires are bundled in some split loom tubing. I didnt think about how tight it was going to be sandwiched it until it blew the compressor fuse. I simply adjusted the split loom, and replaced the fuse....been good to go since...

Thanx for the reply --Not the prob here--- Compressor seems to be down, slo intake of Freon,20 OZs. Low side too High--- Hi side too low. Original prob was pinched/burnt clutch wire--Ground out/blew fuse. Repaired during TN Pipe Mod-rerouted. Worked fine then went down. Came back with no pressure, Now as per above. Cant easily put my hands on the car so just pickin brains till I can---First I will chk press. If none then test for leaks. Just curious bout possible probs of others.

BLK -- Hate to admit,,, but info to future installers that the wire ur refering to is the one that failed here initially---As difficult as it was to foresee, It was my fault. In has by rights to be relocated which is no big deal in itself but is with the Turbo pipping in place. Labor intensive!! I had to install the Mod kit so I did it then. Cut out the bad section,Soldered a length in and covered in heat shrink,Then relocated. In ur case --Its the installers mistake as it was mine Being the installer. Forget a dealer they will be lost and prob refuse. A Turbo Dealer/Installer --Yes. Course ur fuse is blown too. Its located in the box INSIDE!!!!!! the battery compartment on the firewall. Good luck
thanks for the reply eazy, i already knew about the blown fuse. what gauge wire did you use to replace the burnt one, i guess it is better to do it myself. as for the installer, i would also have to blame myself since it was myself that installed the kit. i should have noticed the wires but the wastegate tube was the only part that i let a friend do while i held the pipes from the back.
No issues, after 25K miles of FI use. Aside from taking the precautions, and wrapping all hoses and wires that could be exposed to heat, you should have no issues with the physical compressor.
