Quick question....I have heard a bunch of different BOV's and the noises they make. How come some give off a Pshhhhhhhht sound and others sound more like a pssssst (whistle) sound? Which ones are which? aka brands

it all depends on the design of the outlet flange.
the HKS SSQ has a tri-fin design which induces a whistle sound. the outlet is very tiny, so the velocity of the discharge is very quick. with the quick gust of air plus the tri-fin design, the bov emits a sharp whistle noise.
the SARD r2d2 has a medium sized outlet which induces the common 'pssht' sound. there are no gimmicks to manipulate the discharged air, so the noise in general is the common psht. the blitz and greddy bovs both emit similar sounds.
a BOV should be universal as it would work perfectly identical on a supercharger or a turbocharger system with an inlet duct to the throttle body.

The BOV on a Vortech SC is a Bypass valve . It is open under vacuum and closes when vacuum drops to a adjusted level and opens again when your off the gas and vacuum comes back
what about the BOV´s that make a kind of fluttering noise?
When they are set to loosely, they will release air in a flutter-meaning more than 1 clean psshhh. Mine did that, I just tightened it up a few rotations and sounds much cleaner to me...

Yea fluttering is not good. Can lead to compressor surge killing the life of the turbo.
