Fried? ECU
well according to my dealership my ecu is not sending any kind of signal when it is powered (i guess). the service manager suggests that the ecu is fried... im going to send it to turbonetics to see if it's flash-able, and if not i have but another one. the dealership wants to charge $800-$900 for a new ecu and around $300 to put it back in and re-learn is what i think they told me. i dont know what has to be done besides getting the new ecu, bolting it in, and plugging the harness into it. if this company provides what has to be done to "re-teach" the ecu, i guess this website http://www.ecudirect.com/index.asp looks legit, while charging $400 for an ecu. has anyone had any experience with this company or does anyone know of a better place to get a 2004 ecu. thanks in advance.
If you have a TN then talk to Reggie. He was able to find me a replacement ECU much cheaper than that. Also, Performance Nissan quoted me much less for the part. The dealer flash should not be much (they will need to flash the keys) even after TN flashes the ECU - I forget what they charged me but I want to say like $50 at the most.
