the turbo sits just like the TN. Here are a couple of pics before it was completely finished only the injectors and fuel pump had to be installed. I was going for the sleeper look with the intercoolers.

I plan on getting one if I decide to keep it instead of going TT with my new motor. This turbo can push 600+hp easily.

The BOV is a 50mm Tial Sport. If I decide to keep it I will post sound clips. I heard that it is not too loud.

Um not to be a d!ck but that turbo is not going to net you 600 WHP. MAX flow on the efficiency island for that turbo is 60 lb/min. That equates to roughly 600 Crank HP. Of course thats at the limit of it efficiency so I would expect something in the range of 500-550 to the wheels with good tuning, cams, etc..

Of course with cams, good tuning and the fuel management to push it. I've seen cars with over 600hp with the same turbo. I'm not looking for 600hp anyway I just want 500-550hp which is do-able with this turbo if I decide to keep it on my new motor.

Garrett begs to differ with you:

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...ison_sheet.htm

Max airflow for this unit is right about 60 lb/min of flow. On a car with 100% or better Ve this would equate to roughly 600 Crank Hp. Minus 15% drivetrain loss is 510. Adding cams and timing etc can alter that number but over 600 I sincerely doubt...

So I guess all these EVOs with this same turbo that claim to have 600hp or more are not telling the truth about their numbers. Well like I said I'm not looking for 600hp anyway I just want in between 500-550 if possible. I'm not trying to start a debate with you.

I belive they may be spraying, or doing something else yes... Garrett says the turbo is good for 600 HP on their page and they mean Crank not wheel. Are you sure they aren't running GT40s or 42s? That seems to be the more common insane hp turbo for the Evos...

I know that some of them are running GT42s. I guess that I shouldn't of said easily push over 600+. I know that it will take some work to get over that number with this turbo. Check out this EVO with a GT35R with 755awp, but he has nitrous though. www.batlground.com

Notice what the Nitrous line of mods says, 100-hp-200 hp shot. Subtract that from the 755 number and you get 550-650 HP. Which is EXACTLY what I said this turbo would be at given a much higher then 100$ Ve (I'd love to know the overlap on those cams) and the NUMEROUS other mods on the car. The car has head work, is stroked, etc etc..Sure you could see over 600 RWHp if you did all that work. But a basic built motor with this turbo no nitrous 650...doubtful... That nitrous is DEFINITELY making that jump for 600 to 750

Oh **** man -

I've seen this thread before but I didn't realize it was you who's car it was.

This sucks to hear about your motor, I assume this is why you needed a ride to Stillen day lol?

Mike
PS you sure you won't be needing the emanage ultimate for your rebuild?

Hmm... I missed the post saying that the motor blew. Sorry to hear that.

It IS interesting that the only two cars I can think of with this kit have blown motors. Something's not right here...

Who was the other person? I only know of Damen with this kit and I guess he is still running strong over 1 yr with this kit. The kit didn't blow my motor it was either the tune or something already wrong with my car when boost was applied. I decided to use the EU instead of the Unichip that comes with the kit because almost anyone can use it. I'm not blaming the EU because it is only as good as person using it to tune. The car ran fine before taking it to the tuner under no boost with the exception of my overheating problem that was solved. The problem happened when boost was applied so it's a question of if my car was already damaged from drag racing all the time or if the tuner didn't know what he was doing with the EU.

The kit is still on my car and running strong. And the car has about 115k miles on it. And the block is still stock with the stock muffler. lol
