No doubt those are impressive numbers and I can't wait to see what some of the built motor Vortechs put down in the near future.
There are 2 vq35's that put down more power however. ONe is Lou, he has a built motor making 470 or 480whp and about the same torque, then there was a G35 done @ Zcargarage that made 470 off nitrous and 505 w/ Ntercooler sprayer. He know hows a built, bored, stroked, sleeved block and went widebody. So, we'll see what he puts down.

Those are some awesome numbers as well!
I think it is equally impressive to note that Chris's car does not have Cams . We were running out of time (Chris wanted to hit the highway before traffic) so I didn't get a chance to cool Chris's car for the impressive dyno #'s. Next time we'll have to let her cool and chill the intercooler to see what kind of numbers are possible! We don't normally do this but what the heck would be fun to see what she can do for bragging rights
Brent - if you are reading this thread let me know if you'd like to do the same thing with your GReddy Twin Turbo next time we're on the dyno!

that is very impressive! i think this might have a little affect on all the SC bashing this board does........ 480 rwhp is substantial, and the tq is good too. now, how long is the stock motor going to last with i dont know ~570 crank hp?

That definitely is quite an achievement without cams.
I have the APS TT, and I was this . close to buying the Vortech. I love it. I love the sound. It plenty fast as long as you haven't been exposed to turbo cuz the torque rush is just insane. But when I went for a ride in a Vortech i was hooked. I loved the rush and the sound. I was such a newbie then it was funny.

We have customers making over 500rwhp now with the stock VQ35 (no cams!) and a great tune on pump gas. Goes to show how wonderful the VQ35 engine really is when tuned properly.

Im no expert and im trying to learn as time goes on.
Basically cams control the timing of when the exhaust and intake ports open. They are synchronized to the timing marks on the sprockets for when the pistons are going up and down.
Now someone explain it better please.
