Even with the Forge wastegate actuators and heavier springs, I couldn't sustain over 17lbs. of boost....
What's it take? Water/methanol injection? Even bigger injectors?

Thanks,

Sorry, everyone seems to think he is at 740 in the thread about his race against the 996TT

Gman2004-
Yeah, I had the motor built here in Portland by TorqueFreaks, but they're not a Unichip dealer, so they couldn't tune it. I'd spoken with Rob Fuller at Z-Car Garage about several install questions during the process and he's such a great guy, he actually called me when it was done to ask how it all worked-out! He's swamped and I'm not even his customer and he made a follow-up call! Long story short: I drove the car to CA and left the car with Rob for a couple of months. I am REALLY happy with the work they did. Their dyno numbers are verifiable........

Legend4life- I have a Greddy electronic boost controller. I was trying to avoid chopping-up the APS kit. They keep claiming higher HP, or I would've gone with external wastegates, instead of swapping wastegate actuators TWICE.

Red,
The turbo's are definitely good for 400hp as rated, they have made 400whp from one of them on other applications, so they do have the flow capability. Seeing as how you already have cams, built motor, big exhaust, backpressure or VE should not be an issue holding back the level of boost/power either. But if you're not able to turn up the boost past 17psi, it is definitely the internal wastegates. Internate wastegates, even upgraded, are pretty crappy for high boost and high power levels. IMO, you should just remove the internal wastegates, weld the flappers shut, go with some nice Tial 44mm or maybe Turbosmart wastegates and nice big dumptubes that dump under the car angled away from the engine bay. You will see huge gains in power and will be able to turn up the boost to the turbos' max potential. If the rest of your complete setup is up to par, including tuning, you should be able to hit 800whp

Matters not at all, its all in good fun. I would like to know what Nissan has planed for the 350. With the g35 change coming you know the 350 isnt far behind. Its crazy because shops have made so much cash off the 350 and G. The question is will we still be modding the 350 when the new model comes out. I hope it lasts.

GTR here I come!!! In 2008 though. Not buying a first year run car EVER again. So I figure I've got two years to pay the Z off and then turn it into a race only car. Hell the MkIV Supra only ran for 5 years and look at that. The Z will be the same...

Hi....
The last dyno sheet was 715rwhp @ 8,000 rpm. The car was still running rich.. So he put it back on the dyno.. I dont believe he took a reading when he adjusted it...So i dont know my final number But i can tell you that with 295 drag radials , the tires spin at 60 mph!!!... With my stock aps turbos... it holds 22psi of boost... Scott performance has put alot of R&D to raise the boost this high.. At one point he had the boost to 25psi on the dyno.... But the turbos were running to hard.. so he lowered it down to 22 psi , which is the max effeciency... I have reached the limit with this turbo kit.... I also have methnol/water injection that turns on at 15 psi boost...along with many other custom things... I would love to video tape my boost gauge but it is very hard for a passenger to hold the camera while i accelerate... if and when i get bored with this power i have big boy turbos waiting for install...
