Do you know if the O2 sensors on the downpipe are reversible? Can they be accidently put in each others place OR are they different in shape so they can't be put in the wrong spot?
There is a fellow member on this board who was having the same codes thrown (P1274 and P1283) that I am having after an install of headers and test pipes. He said his O2 sensors where reversed and once put back the right way no more codes. I am wondering if my O2s are reversed as well.

yeah one of the reason there is more than two is because it is a v6 and it will alow the ecu to try and adjust in rich/lean conditions and also help techs to narrow down rich or lean problems to one side of the engine. I am sure there are tons more reasons but to me these seem to be the two most obvious. Other wise there would only be two. One before the cat to adjust the whole fuel management and one after the cat to make sure it is working......right?
Well I just fixed some exahust leaks and have about 45miles with no codes yet. Usually the codes trip at 40miles for me after a ecu reset. So I am crossing my fingers that fixing the exhaust leaks did the trick. If that doesn't do it I will try and swap them around.
Can anyone confirm the position of their O2 sensor on the down pipe? I have the o2 with the green plug up top and the o2 with the blue plug on the bottom. Is this correct or backwards?

I think he is referring to the O2 sensors on the down pipe. Not the O2 sensors that are on the stock manifolds. The O2 sensors on the down pipe are with in inches of each other. I cant see how reversing them would fix or cause any problems. But hey just my opinion.

I swapped them around last night so we will see.
...on that note, i have a question.... can the z after TN set up run properly if there are no sensors where the cat would be...assuming that i would have no cat....just a down pipe all the way back....can this work, and how?
