Default 06 rev up aps TT

My car is currently at GTmotorsports getting the APS TT installed but they seem to have run into a a little problem. Sam told me that the new 06 have a different rack and pinoin steering column and therefore the aps tt wont fit without some modification. Has anyone installed a aps tt on a 06? if so what type of modification did you do to make if fit?I know that Sam will figure something out but i just would like to see my options. Thanks in advance..

this would be more than fabbing up new piping. Where the stearing nuckle is, is very close to the turbo, not the piping.

Sell the APS TT and buy a Greddy TT and it will fit fine.

I think ZIVMAN is right . The steering knuckle is what Sam said was interfering. I know i saw a thread of someone who had a fix. I hope he can chime in here.

The steering rack is a little different so the knuckle sits higher and hits the turbo when turning even after modifying it like the instructions say. Try lifting that side of the engine slightly by installing some spacers at the engine mounts.

sucks to be APS... their kit only fits 3 years of production cars. Eh, I bet a custom steering shaft U-Joint will fix it... they could machine one up no problem. Time to invest in a broaching machine...

Here you can see a little of it. The steering knuckle is slightly higher so even after shaving some of it it will still hit the turbo when you try to turn the steering column.

Why can't you just flip the u-joint around 180 degrees?

Sweetttttt.my only concern now would be that i have the 5/16 plenum spacer. i wonder if by adding washers to the motor mount, how much will it affect the clearance for strut bar.
