I found out last week that I was only boosting 4.6 lbs and thought I had a boost or vaccume leak somewhere. I check all the coupings and lines over and over...found nothing. So today, I took it down to my shop, they pressurized the system and found no leaks. We then checked the boost controller and found out the the brain of the E-01 was not working. WEAK! Did I get a defective E-01 or this is a common issue with this boost controller? I just hope Greddy will warranty it.

 

I have had mine for almost 2 years and no problems.

 

Yea, i know it's weird. I searched to see if anyone had the same problem with the E-01 and didn't come up with anything. But, I did get to speak with a friend that works at a shop and he told me that they were a couple of cases where that the E-01 was bad out the box or didn't work after a few months. I doubt it was a bad installation because it worked flawlessly for the 4000 miles I had it on the car.

 

Was the e-01 boost meter showing a different number? What made you think you had boost leak? Car felt slower? Just curious.

 

Yea, I was only getting 4.6-5.0. Car definately felt slower. I got boost up to 9lbs when I took the vaccume line that connects to the boost selinoid and plugged it with a screw.
