Default Cams with Vortech?

Im currently putting Wiesco 8.8/1 pistons with eagles rods, ARP head and main studs in a brand new short block I just bought with a vortech and 2.87 pulley. The car has a TB, plenum, headers, full exhuast, 440cc, AAM fuel system, 255 fuel pump, technosquare ECU with rev limit upped, JWT flywheel. I would like to make 500hp to the ground on a dynojet dyno and was wondering if I should just leave the stock cams or get the JWT cams or some other cams. Would it be worth the money or am I only going to see 15 or less hp increase? Also if I get the cams should I also do a set of springs?

I went with the Nismo cams . They make power thru most of the rpm range . I can feel them kick in around 3000rpm

A 15-20 whp increase on a N/A car would expound itself on a F/I car, so you might make more like 40-60hp, or more depending on the ability to tune for them. If you do go with a set of JWT cams, I do have a set of JWT valve springs and shims in stock..

my understanding is the JWT cams are similar to the nismo cams except they make slightly less power below 2000 rpms and more power up high

if you have a really light flywheel, you'll rarely drive below 2000 anyway when you're actually going

The minimum increase of the hp would be about 17-20, ive seen dyno results with JWT cams that increased their hp to 27. Cams are really worth it

he's talking about a tuned hp difference on an NA car versus stock, instead of just putting the cams in and re-dynoing.

To do cams "PROPERLY" and when I say properly, I mean taking having the lash between the valve and cam set properly, install the cams, then tune for the optimal power gain, you would be close to buying a single turbo kit or supercharger. This is why most dont try it..

I don't understand this at all? I just had mine installed with new springs and the works for $650.
