Default F/I Gurus SHARIFFF HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so tonight Im crusing and the SES light starts to blink repeatedly. Then at the light I notice the car starts to shake and miss like crazy. I end up at the tunnign and install shop and they say Cylinder #6 is not catching on at all. Coil seems fine and so does injectors. But they will run a compression test tomorrow early ASAP, if that goes bad it could be the engine. Im so scared.

They will call me by noon with results. I heard of coils or injectors going bad but i dont know. Hmmmmm................it will be a long night.

Car was running like crap.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm............................................ ...........

if it's missing like crazy, the coil most likely isn't fine, i wonder if maybe the plug is just kaput though.

No smoke or anything. Basically the car all of a sudden started to give me a Flashing SES light then when i got to a stop sign i could here a slight tapping noise from the engine and it was running so rough i was vibrating in the seat like crazy. You could hear it was missing too.

I drove it to GT Motorsports were they said the following. Now keep in mind im not mechanically knowleadgeable so here is my understanding.

According to Sam at GT the #6 Cylinder is not firing. He checked coils visually and they seem fine and the injectors from first glimpse seem fine so he said the issue may be internal so he decided for a compression test. As we speak they are doign that right now. Another few hours and we should know something.

Sam said not to declare it dead yet because it may even be a minor electrical issue or something. The engine has only 18K miles so he said he doubts it may be internals for sure so hopefully he gets back to me today.

No smoke, no oil leaks, no detonation. The car was running awesome until this all of a sudden while crusing on the FWY.

"visual" check to a coil doesn't cut it for me man. I'm willing to bet it's either the coil or the plug.

it takes them a few hours to do a compression test?

keep us posted.

if you didn't hear any clunking, just felt massive shaking and power loss.. it's more than likely that your cylinder #5 is not firing.

I would say it's ignition related.. let's wait and see. Crossing my fingers for ya.

I had same problem when I was NA it was simple-the spark plug grounding strap had some how melted to the electrode causing a constant misfire. Hopefully it will be that easy for you.

this is why it pays to work on your own cars. good luck with that. one of my spark plugs actually backed out a few weeks ago and it did the same exact thing.

hopefully its something minor!!
