Angry Exedy Clutch problems..... HELP!!!!

Hey guys I dont know who all has used one or is using one but I'm having a lot of problems with my Exedy Carbon Clutch.

Today I drove a lot in traffic too, but it just keeps slipping and slipping no matter if I drag it to heat it up or not. I know its commen to slip when its cold so either Im an idiot and not dragging it enough to get it hot or its just burnt and I need a new plate.

Example: Crousin at 80 in 6th go to get on it a little to pass a car or just have some good old fun and car starts to pull then jumps like 1500rpm and no more power to the wheels. So I drop to 5th and drag it and it hooks up but then when I go to boost and the demand is high starts to slip again.

Im really annoyed so any help would be great. I know Exedy makes great clutches but is this really not a street clutch?

Yeah, the Exedy Single Hyper Carbon clutch will slip unless you properly warm them up. What I do before I drive is first, let the car warm up to operating temperature, next I rev to about 3k RPM and let it slip until it catches then stop. Repeat 3 times. Once the clutch is up to operating temperature slip should be eliminated.

Ya but it cools down fast like if your driving on the freeway for a while and you get on it it will still slip. Warming it up doesnt last too long at least with me. I kind of wish I stayed with my stock clutch. had no slip no problems except for chatter.

I just came back from doin my last bit of driving for the day/night and I think I completely burnt the disc. I guess Ill be making calls Monday morning to order a new disc or buy a whole knew clutch setup thats more street friendly

its been a month but it was used before me for 2500 miles. I got it checked out by exedy tech and they said it was perfect so we just resurfaced the plate and flywheel and it was working great

How much power is your engine producing?

An Exedy single carbon isnt going to hold a massive amount of power. They are severely underated, for the money, IMHO. ATS carbons are much less expensive, better streetability, and hold far more power.

Hey Sharif whats up man? Its Avo Gurgen buddy who bought everything from you. hehehe

Im putting down 382hp and 322tq at the wheels. I think the clutch is rated at 350hp (crank) Im not sure. Im in a mess now the car is sitting in the driveway and I cry everytime I see her.

I loved how it worked on the track rev matching it like butter and it really grabs. Got any advice dude? Do you know if I could change the disc to a different one?

Hi Avo...didnt realize it was you. I appears you are simply exceeding the limits of the single carbon EXEDY. It probably help up for a while, and now finally gave out.

I'll give you a call and we can discuss some options.

not sure the amt of power you are producing, but i'd say go with the tilton double plated cerametallic setup... good to 720hp at the flywheel--no "warm-up" required
