Most in the brakes and tires thread are N/A and I feel theres a huge difference in tire selection. i have searched also and again mostly N/A guys. So help me out here

I run Falken 451s myself. I love 'em.

i have 2 sets. I normally run with goodyear eagle f1 gsd3's. My other set is Toyo T1's. Both are good. The Toyo's seem to work better in the wet weather.

Street tires are 285/35 BFG KDWII, track set-up is 16" 26X11.5" ET Streets. I get traction from a 1st gear roll when its over 70-75 degrees out, otherwise Ill spin in 1st of course and through some of 2nd.

the toyo's are a very nice tire, but i wore a set out in like 5-6000 miles. i am now running bfr kdws. they are a great tire in wet and dry, and will last quite awhile giving there adhesion levels.

Hands down the best street tire for that power is the Michelin PS2, trust me, I had the Bridgestones, Toyos, and these are really good. I got 20k miles with 440whp on teh rear and almost 30k up front

Bart have you tried the BFG's? These are my favorite tire yet, with Goodyear F1's a close 2nd...

BFGs or Eagles are what im leaning towards since PS2s are almost 300 a tire.

I priced them out and was going too but i noticed they have high road noise and I like to maintain a streetable High Power car as much as possible. I do like the overall construction of those tires better than any other. Ive never driven with them but I have been in a car with 550whp and they could not keep up. But in the KDW's defense I think they were the older ones and not the newer ones if that makes sense.

Alot of these (above mentioned) brands of tires will be just fine, but IMO, to answer your 400+whp traction question, it is tire size and treadwear that is the most help for traction on a daily driven tire. On 18's, I recomend a 315/30/18 on the rear and a 285/30/18 on the front. On 19's I like the 305/30/19 rear and the 285/30/19 for the front.

Scott will the 315/30/18 fit a G w/o rolling or rubbing? I've got Alberto shipping me some wheels soon

I've only seen the PS2 come in that size - any other options?

315 in the back and I'd think you'd definitely have to roll the fenders. Although it does depend on the offset... Most of the extreme 305+ tire width sizes usually come at the expense of rolling or cutting the rear fenders from what I've seen.

^^^ +1 That is pretty much the case

rcdash, Tengai beat me to the answer. Rolling the fenders is no big deal though.

Thanks guys. I've read that rolling is no big deal, but I'd hate to permanently damage the fender...

Which street tires comes in 305 and are good dry and wet traction? Can't really seem to find that width...

He better not sell them to you - lol! My bank has already issued the check

We have tried running larger then 295's on the rear and we had to run alot of negative camber in the rear to prevent rubbing even with rolled fenders.

I would recommend some 295 PS2 with a camber kit and set the rear to 1.5 or so if you are not tracking the car. With that setup you shouldn't have any traction issues.
