Just telling you from personal experience driving a C6 and driving my car
yeah maybe "destroys" was an overstatement, but my car has 100more whp, much lighter drivetrain, and about 22.5% average more aggressive gearing up to 127 mph

I don't know what you are trying to say but hp is what makes you win a top end run. Torque gets you down the 1/4 mile not top speed runs. I'm pretty sure he'd walk a C6 on the highway.

tq is hp without engine speed factored in - they're linked to each other. To say one is meaningful and the other is worthless is wrong. If you punch a punching bag with 100 lbs of force and can do it 20 times a minutevs me punching the bag with 70 lbs of force and do it 40 times a minute, I'd do 40% more damage despite a lower peak force number.
To put it another way, TQ matters when driving slow around town because there's a lot of response. HP matters when you're racing. Instead of TQ response, you get rpm speed giving you your response.
if tq wins races, then we should all be racing and shifting at 4500 rpms - and actually we should just never bother shifting out of 1st gear for that matter. Just rev the car up to peak tq@4500 and then keep it there
If you do that, and I go for higher rpms where more hp is made (and less tq), we'll see who wins a raceOr actually F1 race cars should stop reving to 18000 rpms and put in a big truck diesel engine and rev to 3000 rpms cause it'll make more peak tq
yes hp sells cars. A bigger number at redline sounds impressive on paper vs another car that makes a buttload more power at lower rpms but lower peak power. I think car manufacturers should show official dynocharts for their cars, but they won't cause then the truth would be revealed and they just want to sell cars
A C6 will jump me off the line and probably snag 1-2 car lengths pretty quick, but I'd catch it and pull on it about half way down the track
besides, if I'm making 360-365 tq at the wheels (and hold it +/- to about 6000 rpms) and a C6 Z51 makes 340 tq at the wheels at 4000, then drops off, I dunno, even the tq math says I win. The only variable you can't put in a side by side comparison is the C6's ability to launch better on street tires with the longer 1st gear, more low end power, and transmission mounted in the rear for better drag racing weight distribution

Then I'd like to race you, because I don't see that happening.
so "theking" and "sentry65" you are telling me that TQ has nothing to do with Top End Runs.. its all HP..
so basically you are telling me that a Z33TT and a SCZ33 with the same HP.. on the top end their will be no difference in outcome?
