Default Possible to turbo for <$5k?

Just trying to figure out my mod plans this summer... I figure at the end of working all summer I should be around $5k in the bank. Would it be possible to get a turbo installed/tuned for around $5k? I already have a UTEC/wideband and full exhaust mods, so that would save me some $$$. Will I be able to go turbo or am I stuck with SC as my only option?

And yes, I should make more money... I'm working on that.

it would have to be a used turbo kit, and about $1500 for install and tuning i guess...maybe possible, but i wouldn't expect a perfectly reliable setup for $5K...just save more and get a good kit and tune

don't buy a used kit, and don't go cheap on it.

my suggestion: Don't make a budget, because then you'll cut corners in order to not exceed it, and then get yourself in some very expensive problems.

Yeah that amount may be a low. I think add another $2500 and you should be able to maybe.

if you are not going to do it right... don't do it at all.. so if you don't have $10,000... keep making that BOV sound when you shift

if you are going to go FI make sure you have enough money to pay for any problems you may or may not have. Would hate to hear about something breaking and you not being able to afford to get it fixed.

You could get the TN kit for about $5000, and if you do the install yourself you would be there.

Look at the TN tuner kit and just add the fuel pump and injectors. The injectors you can get cheap used ones on the fourm here. You already have the UTEC. You should be right around the $5000.00 mark. Good Luck and enjoy.

I would not do TN kit, I have heard way too many bad stories about things happening to those cars. I would say that 5k is a little low. I would instead of taking out a loan get a 0% interest credit card and make payments to pay it off. If you want some more ideas shoot me a PM and I can help you with the process.
