Default Will G35 vortech kit work on a 350z?

Hey guys,

Im talking to a guy right now that has a sweet deal on a vortech kit here in FL but it is off of a G35, what is the difference between the 350Z and G35 kits? If it is something small could i modify it to make it work?

Thanks in advance.

You can call Vortech and they can tell you the difference or check their site which has parts lists for both kits. The FMU is definitely different, but something easy to change.

The Split Second box also has a different calibration in it...

So would the Split Second box work if i took it and got it tuned at a local shop? Or do i need to purchase a 350z specific vortech box?

Lemme rephrase this, exactly what all would need to be changed to make a G35 kit work on a Z?

Nothing, except for retuning the split second box (Vortech might have changed this recently). Everything will work. :thumbup

Well you will also need to deal with changing the disks in the FMU as the Vortech manual states.

THe manuals are often outdated. The user should always confirm with Vortech.

OK here's the situation...

The only difference between
4NZ218-010SQ (03-04 350Z)
4NZ218-020SQ (04 G35)
4NZ218-030SQ (03 G35)

...is the program installed on the Split Second box. These three systems all have an 8:1 FMU. The 05 systems have a 7:1 FMU.

I actually can attest to this and sharif is correct, if its an 05' model they changed the some things so its used for both g35 and Z. I was suspicious when i ordered the kit and when i was checking parts alot of parts (such as the ss box) said g35 on them. I called up vortech and they confirmed. Looks like u are running an 04' but for 05' should be the same. The manual IS outdated!!! All they did pretty much was change the date rate on the coversheet.
