I've been lucky enough to personally view the building of one of Todd's motors and in about 2 months I'll hopefully have one.

keep the swinging coming...we'll have a total of five cores here (in addition to the three we have already, so actually 8) and plan to finally have 2 or 3 engines completed, ready to ship next day

I have one of todds motors in my car, you cant go wrong with it. But get the 1/2" studs and hks gaskets and hopefully you never have to open your engine up again.

I like the 1/2" head stud option but my problem is that I want to buy just a built short block. I don't want to ship my block or heads. Therefore, I would need to get the heads machined locally. How difficult of a job is it to machine the heads for 1/2" head studs?

most local machine shops can machine out the heads, basically, they are boring the head stud hole larger to accept the 1/2" stud, typically, they must go at least .040 over 1/2" to get the acceptable fit
