Default Cracked Block! Heeeeeelp!!

Ok so I've had my motor @ the machine shop for over a week and 1/2 and they just called me today to tell me they found a crack on one of the sleeves. They said they can order a sleeve, bore the existing one out and drop the new one in. Is this really that easy? THey are only charging me like 200 bucks to do it. I was looking into Darton sleeves but the price is outrageous for my budget right now. I'm worried about the sleeve slumping and getting overheating problems later on. Is this really that common?

Any and all feedback on the matter would be greatly appreciated!

Well, you might as well get all of them done... I have a block that has Darton Liners and they're good for 1300+hp... I actually prefer them over the Darton MID kit becuase my car runs much cooler with the Liner vs. how it did with the MID kit.

Make sure you find out which thickness Darton liners they plan on using... I'm pretty sure the Darton Liners that I have in my block need to be purchased through Weston Machine.

Yeah, they could drop a liner in it if one of your stock sleeves is damaged. Gurgen did the same thing on his engine. No worries.

It's not a true sleeve. It is basically replacing the cracked liner. For instance, to install a Darton sleeve is about $175/hole. So this guy's price is about normal, since he just replacing and installing one liner.
