Why is this procharger kit so cheap?
Is it because it's a c-1 procharger? Has anyone had any experience with the c-1?

Thats all fine and dandy... but for some reason they are saying it is the C-1 unit.... Procharger now uses the C-2 Blower... could be part of the reduction in price. With the new and old design in housing and fins it may not operate as well? Infact.. I think ATI had the C2 at the time they made the kit for the G / Z sooo.. they wouldn't have reverted back to the old blower for a NEW kit...

AAM talks about c-1 and c-2 on their kit. I think the c-1 kit might be a universal kit for sub compacts.

This might shed some light on why the c-1 is cheaper. If you look at this guide the 350z comes with the c-2 unit with a msrp of over $5000. Scroll down and you'll see the universal kit is the c-1 unit with an msrp fo around $3500. I guess the c-2 unit is custom fit for the z.

I sent an e-mail to them with many questions.
I asked if:
It was a complete kit for my 2005 350Z?
What size injectors are included?
Is it a piggyback or reflash?
Is it a C1 or C2 supercharger and what is the difference?
Dyno results on customers cars and relaibility?
As soon as I get a reply I will post the answers.
It sounds TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, but it was worth the inquiry
I'll keep everyone posted,
Howard

I sent the message early in the AM Eastern Time, like 6:30am Friday....
NO RESPONSE!!!
I sent a message on EARLY Thursday AM to Tecnosquare regarding a Reflash on a COMPLETE Procharger system and as to whether I would still need the DFMU.....
NO RESPONSE!!!
IF and when I hear anything I will post the results.

I was all about the procharger, and even had one on order. I started looking at the spec sheet's and the preassures that came with my brochure and some thing wasnt making sence.
There were guys on here struggeling to push 450whp at the smallest pully (at the time) I called the company and talked to one of the tech reps. They said they never tested the full boost on a tuned 350z. They extrapolated the numbers from other unit after there flow bench testing. So the max power out put is theoretical, and they said that they do not have any one that has reached even close to that with out NO2.
IMHO Its crap for the Z. It's better for the other cars with room for a larger unit. Or hello maybe spend a little extra for a turbo. I got the Greddy TT kit for an even swap in order's.

I am very much about Bang for the Buck.
While I LOVE my 350Z that only cost me just about $30K after tax and tags NEW.
If I add $10,000 in to it for a TT set-up, I could just buy another Brand New 2006 C6 Vette for $40,000-$42000 (discounted) and run 12.4-12.5@110-113 right off the showroom floor. About the same times as a TT 350Z.
Keep in mind, that $10,000 is not counting the cost of a NEW Built Engine for $10,000 after I pop the Stock Nissan Engine.
I have a 2005 C6 Vette Convertible automatic that ran 12.57@110.67 on a 1.92 60' STOCK.
I just put on a Magnaflow catback and ordered a Vararam ram air and should see 12.2-12.3@112-114 in the cool fall air.
If I add $20,000 to the cost of the Nissan I am up to $50,000 and will NEVER get that money back out of it.
I can see spending $5000-$6000 on it including install, but that's it.
I should just sit tight, enjoy my STOCK 350Z until I can afford the 2006 Z06 that I am really jonesing for. Unfortunately I don't have $70K lying around

Simple acording to the Tech I spoke to and illuded to before, for the placement in the stock Z with no structural mods its the largest one that would fit. The others would have clearence issues.
Idealy you would want a MUCH lager unit flow wise to get more volume at the same PSI. But unless you got $$$ to throw at R&D your stuck with what you got in the kit.

I feal the same for my Z. I've always had a thing for nissans, kinda climbing the nissan ladder -> '98 200sx, '02 SE-R SPEC V, Now a Twin Turbo 350Z. So I've got few options from where to go after this, May be R33 V- Spec, a 98 240sx R34 RB26DETT Swap. I dont think I will buy a new car and start modding it again, payments cut too much into the parts over head
Definately its not what you drive but how you get there and modding is personal taste. My car is my own, and 2 I realy dont like Vet's not my style. I like the challange of making something achieve its full all arround performance potential. So awesome handeling, awesomespeed, stunning looks, that was done by me is what gets my bag.
But any who if you gotta hard on for a SC better to go with what you feal you need. Your baby you do with it what you want. Remember its more expensive to get one item then sell it to get another than to get the one you want the first time.
So if you cant buy it now have patients and get what you want. This is for every thing in automotive tuning.
