Default Anyone here 5AT & turbo'd?

I tried to do a search but didnt find much. Im looking into the turbonetics single turbo kit for my auto Z but I have yet to find another Z with it. Most of the local shops havent even installed one in an auto. Im just curious if any members have done this regardless of the brand. Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

There is a guy in MD SN whtz or something like that. Just posted in Mid-A thread about getting his car back, PM him for info. He has a white auto TN Z, Ive seen it in person looks nice. Ive also heard of an auto in Florida with other mods added to the kit trapping 119mph down the 1/4....

JLimquest on this board has a 5AT Turbonetics kit installed as well. Do a search for that. I think he has a few threads about it.

Thanks..........

I wonder if anyone has installed a kit on a stock car without mods. I have no engine mods and I was thinking of just going big instead of getting a bunch of NA parts.

Thinking of getting the greddy twin turbo on my 03 auto. Drew at Deepstage Motorsports in Killeen, Texas has already done one an a auto Z. He does alot of turbo business and he is active in the Drag circuit.

There are several people who have. 12NV is a perfect example. The only mod on his car was the Nismo wing. He installed the Turbonetics kit. I think he made like 360 RWHP and 380 ft/lb of tq out of box no changes.

A TN kit on an otherwise stock car would be great...on an auto 350-360whp Id guess, way more than any bolt-ons will get you.

You can't "go big" on the VQ engine from what I have learned until you build up the motor!!

Or, should I say, if you do go big on the VQ you will have fun for maybe 3 months. Then you will not have a choice in building up the motor because it will be blown.

Be careful!

(edit) By going big I am saying 500 - 550whp +

That depends on your definition of big.

W/ the VB, can you just leave it in "D" and mash the gas? instead of having to shift in MM?

You don't even need an exhaust if you dont want one. Like I said 12NV used the stock exhaust and still made 360 WHP and 380 ft/lb of Tq.

How to you like the level 10 VB? I've heard so many bad things on here about them. Most say their valve body is like stillens and you still bump the rev limiter because it shifts too slow.

all of the VB's do that even the SGP which seems to be the best. i'm @ 515+hp on a stock block and only have the VB upgrade and water/meth injection.
