350Z VS Ferrari 360

Driving Sensation. I am not sure, 160 MPH on a racetrack is still 160 MPH if the car is prepared to perform at that level. It just does and needs to feel right. Too much at stake if it isn't. We build them to perform at that level.
No Hype, just the truth.
However, how many folks do you know have $100k plus to spend on a car...???
Any? How many Exotic car owners do you know?
Hell Porsche owners get in my G35C every week and can't believe how nice it is, and when I step on the gas, WOW...Eyes peeling back...
Did they EVER consider a G35 or a Z Roadster before they bought their Carrera or their Wife's M3, HELL NO...Didn't even think twice. Not even on the Porsche, or Exotic, or Beemer owner's radar
I tried to trade my wife’s BMW for a M35 and she thought she was stepping down into the ghetto. Are you kidding...Sure the car is quality, yet it is 60 years of heritage and marketing that is embedded in our brains.
AND TRUST ME, the Ferrari or Porsche, Lambo, or Z06 owner that gets passed by our VRT Nissan's does give a damn; otherwise they wouldn't come by at the track scratching their heads.
"Wow, That car can't be stock??? Is it...”
I have owned a variety of sports cars that in their stock form demolish a Z or G35C, yet, for some reason I always picked up the keys to my modded Z Roadster or G35C before the Euro or Z06.
Honestly folks, you are driving classic cars in the Z and G. Not cause they are going to be worth $$$ millions 20 years from now, cause they truly have the bones and heart that can be modified to compete at all levels of performance for a reasonable budget.
A Reasonable Budget...
Is your stock M3 that gets passed by my modded G35 better because it is European or cost $60k+. In my opinion no.
You would be surprised that if you have the choices like a Z06s, BMWs, Z Roadster, or G35c, which car do you pick TODAY.
I seem to constantly pick the Nissans over the rest for some reason. Maybe I am stupid, yet this is the truth. Now I only have one Nissan to choose from, My G35C for I sold the Z recently. I am not interested in getting rid of my G35C.

We are trying...It isn't easy yet we are very passionate.
Still looking for the stock 360 to meet up at the track with our $20k modded Z or even G35 for that matter.
USED...Find the Ferrari 360 yet? We are ready when you are...
20 laps and I will bring the press! NOT CLOWNING, very serious. Would make for some fun TV. We will even meet you on the East Coast...Let's do it before the weather changes!

props to Violent Racing, they truly make some great machines from Z/Gs, nice videos on your website btw^^
I would love to see that. I love Ferraris but something about a DAILY DRIVEN TT car whipping on exotics just makes me smile ear to ear... especially when it's a G35C or a 350Z!
It is true that the the Z is no Ferrari but that was not the question of the thread. His question was "what would it take?"
I almost bought an M3, I almost bought an NSX, I almost bought a used Ferrari 355... Once I drove the Z, I bought an 04 350Z Touring 6MT but then totalled that within one year even before I started modding her... luckily. I then tested a bunch of cars ranging from 35K to 80K+. Then I tested the G35C several times. It felt like a Z but a little bit bigger and a little bit more practical. Then I saw the price and especially the potential to build a kickass car that looks pretty sick and handles like a sports car that I can drive EVERYDAY and not just on weekends.

But back on topic, to be honest i dont know many people who would spend 20K on an engine on a 30K car, especially since you'll never get that money back. I personally would rather a ballooned lease repayment on a car i know will still pay out my residual at the end of 3 yrs
Re pics, im waiting till my Z is kitted, and was also waiting for the 430 to come (only arrived a couple weeks ago) to go and get some pics of all together - going to be a bit of a nightmare to setup though
But for now.....
996 Turbo S Cab – Turbo S scored the same engine spec as GT2 + ceramic brakes. Only 4 Cabs in Aus

SL55 – Brabus K8 kit taking power to 550hp, 20” Monoblock rims, Brabus paddle shift steering wheel

Murci – Lift kit (jacked up in pics to get down driveway, yellow stitching, roadster wheels, Tubi exhaust

360 spider – traded on new F430 F1 spider, with carbon airboxes/engine bay, full carbon interior pack, competition seats, ceramic brakes - no pics yet unfortunately

In the mean time, post up your build sheet (all parts/labor/incidentals included) for the Z. This would be very informational to all. Then post up a spec sheet for the 360 and we could do a comparison.
One more thing, can you build this z and keep it road legal? If not, then we have to make some allowances in that regard for the 360. I know it's not a fair fight from the begining, but that is a key point. Would you agree?
Which track do you think would be good? Or which tracks? We need both tight/short and top speed.

I would be more than happy to "donate" my car for this. I would love to see a real driver drive it as opposed to me. This sounds like it will be fun. Gotta love the forums!!!!!!!!!

Actually, aside from the wheels, it look just like any other SL55.

You talked about $20k in upgrades, No TT cars in California are CARB...Just want to make that clear. And concessions for the 360, common man, there already is a $100,000 concession.
If you bring a modded Ferrari, we aren't in agreement from the start. This whole post started about what TT kit will beat a 360 on a racetrack...
So...You get the stock 360 on whatever tires you want, we will bring a modded Z or G. The first thing we will have to agree on is a location.
If you are serious, please PM and let's talk and make sure we are on the same page.
Sounds like alot of fun.

Willow Springs International could be good, as it has the Big Willow track that is very much high horsepower and high speed oriented, and Streets of Willow which is tight and twisty and handling oriented. Right on the same motorsports park. And being here near Los Angeles the chances of finding a Ferrari from SoCal is probably pretty decent.
Here is my 2 cents on how to beat any car with your Z.
Spend your money and learn how to drive it!!! You would be suprised at what the Z can do with a great driver behind the wheel. And those of you who think you can drive and have never been to a HPDE, you have a lot to learn. So take it to a HPDE event a few times and you will probably be able to hang with the Ferrari 430's. Since you will understand how to drive the right line, weight control of the car, slow in-fast out,...
