Default larger injectors on vortech will pass smog?

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about upgrading my injectors on my stock vortech system w/ 3.12 pulley to RC440's w/ a fuel return system. Just wondering when it comes time to smog if i'll still pass with that setup. I'm still running stock cats and exhaust. Any feedback would help. Thanks

they cannot see your injectors now can they? If they cannot see it you will pass the visual portion of the inspection. As long as you pass the sniffer you are good to go. I had larger injectors on my old car and had no problems in San Diego

My only concern would be the return fuel system. Under CARB rules, you can't touch the fuel system. The question is, would the person inspecting know it was a different setup? If they spotted it, you could potentially be failed on the visual inspection.

I have seen a few pics of return systems, and they usually have several non-factory looking connections and hoses. Just be aware before you install.

i don't think visual will be too big of an issue. I just want to make sure I'll still pass the sniffer test before I drop over a grand into this upgrade. Technically, the upgraded fuel system should deliver the same amount of fuel as the stock vortech system just without maxing out the stock injectors right? In this case the emissions would probably be the same, can someone please confirm?
