Default Help: APS 3" Dual, Boost Creep

Hey guys,

I put on the APS 3" dual today and ran into problems with overboosting. I know that this is common when you swith to a free-flowing aftermarket exhaust, but at this point it is uncontrollable. I am controlling/monitoring boost through a Blitz SBC i-Color. I have it on the AUTO setting and have it set at 7psi. After the exhaust install, i reset the boost controller hoping that the auto setting would self adjust and keep boost at 7psi but it would overboost to 9+psi. I then tried messing with the gain (had it at 65) and tried lowering it to 20, 10, 5, and finally even 0, but the same thing happened, boost would hit the 9's. Then i tried adjusting the boost setting to around 3.5-4psi at 0 gain, but even then the boost hit 9's. I feel like I am missing something on the settings of the blitz i-color because i heard that this boost controller is pretty stable. Any suggestions?

BTW, my engine setup is:

Power Enterprise TT (380cc Injectors, 255lph fuel pump, 2 step colder plugs)
Crawford Plenum, APS 2.5" test pipe, APS 3" dual Cat-back,
HKS SSQV blow off valve, Grounding kit
UTEC w/Tuner, Map Sensor

Thanks in advance for your help

Further Details:
Before the install, I was running aps 2.5" test pipes and stock exhaust. Boost was holding steady at 6.8-7psi.

Did you try disconnecting the boost controller and running the kit on stock boost to see if that eliminated the problem? I just don't trust these boost controllers based on reviews I have read (not just yours - all of the electronic ones). I have the PE kit too, and I plan to do my springs and remove my boost controller (TurboXS Dual Stage). Less variable for fu*kups.

Try using the manual setting, leaving the gain around 10 and playing with the set number and see what that gets you.

+1, is it is it spiking up to 9 or holding it up there consistently

i would adjust the main boost set a bit lower and keep the gain at around 10

Hey Broke,

Try manual like westpak suggested. My manual Greddy controller works perfect. I'm set at 7 psi but can go up to 11 psi. No creep whatsoever.
