I'm sure that silly thread has been going well enough without my input. I do have the Z. Actually I have three available, Nismo editions. I do have the 360's in three different trims. What I don't have is the time right now. I am too busy with customer projects. That takes precedence.

I asked for pictures because I really thought VRT had a shop - I guess there's nothing wrong with a couple of guys working out of someone’s garage...

I personally judge a shop on how they deal with customers and the cars that they turn out. It may be crazy, but to me thats more important.

VRT has everything that they would have in a wearhouse shop; A lift, tools, tons of parts storage, room to store lots of cars, and qualified mechanics. It also has things that wearhouse shops dont; A private gate, an owner who will be within 100' of your car all night, every night, guard dogs, and a stocked kitchen .
I will definitely have to agree with philthy that' is classic ,I wish I could operate out of my Own house, and I do have a very big house .maybe I should talk to mike and found out how he can get away with it ,you see I have been doing business in the state of California for almost 15 years . and I did not know that you can even get a business license or a automotive repair dealer license unless you are in a zoned area for auto repair ,how can you even get garage keeper insurance and not even to mention work compensations insurance .
wow very very clever ,just be careful

Come on Sam - I can't think of any State that would allow this to happen in a residential zone...

Funny how you're calling out reputable shops that pay their overhead, insurance, etc...

VRT are a bunch of funny guys! Got to love those guys...

With all do respect, you guys don't have all of the details and neither do I, so I don't think its right to start pointing fingers. I am in the buisness of commercial real estate and I for one, know that there are a lot of loopholes in Nevada's zoning restriction codes. For instance, I just leased a space to a Butcher Shop in one of our centers. The City requires butcher shops to install a grease trap that costs around $15k. The funny thing is, unless you are actually buthchering animals there, you can technically go in for your permits as a grocery store, which doesn't need the grease trap. So maybe Mike didn't get a buisness license for an automotive repair shop, but maybe there is a loophole somewhere where you can build race cars or word it some other way, that qualifies as an at home buisness? Afterall "repairing" and "modifying" are two different things.

How long was this thread up before it was turned to s**t? Sorry Mike. Now I remember why I stopped going on the forums as much.

After just quickly looking over some of SD county's zoning ordinance, if he's zoned variable family residential depending on the number of dwellings per acre there seems to be plenty of ways to get it done legally in SD county, loopholes or otherwise.

Which is probably true in his neighborhood since its probably less than one house per acre.

Meh, who cares where the shop is, they have made a name for themselves with remarkable work not by their buildings. Craftsmanship has nothing to do with location.

Its getting to the point where they can't bag on the cars anymore or the JWT kit, so naturally the shop is next. Pretty soon it will move to personal attacks, then close friends and relatives.

LMAO, oddly enough the same thought came to me when I read that.

Regardless you have to admit that their product is pretty good.
