APS ST/TN Owners... Do any of you have 3.9FD
I think you can do the 5AT with the 3.9 gears and FI. The 5 gears are taller than the first 5 on the 6MT. Also, when you factor in transmission upgrades, its a lot easier to shift and launch. Valve body means that split second shifts are as simple as the flick of a wrist and an improved torque converter allows for optimal launch from a stand still.
Basically, you have the advantage of only having to worry about throttle, steering angle and a quick smack of the shifter for a gear change. Effort is reduced on shifting with no clutch engagement and you're not trying to modulate the clutch / throttle on launch.
Also, you can do a comparison of the power being applied to the wheels through gear reduction. Roughly, a 6MT with the 3.9 with 10% less power should be about fast to accelerate as a stock geared 6MT.

Every time I start getting impatient I hear more news to keep me going!
Do you know if there will be an intro price and will include the new unichip or still be reflash! If its Unichip I will hold off on the UTEC.
I am looking forward to the release so there is another option for me!
I am ordering a JWT combo next week from Sharif!

What Trap Speeds are you getting in the 1/4 mi.
How is the drivability of the car!
Thanks,

116mph is my best in 90 degree heat.
Drove very well, no hiccups, like stock out of boost and was one hell of a ride in boost.
I suggest you pick up a FI kit first then decide if you really want shorter gearing. I LOVE the stock gearing, and with the power numbers in my sig, I didnt have any spinning issues with 285's from a 1st gear roll (unless it was cold out). I personally wouldnt run the 3.9 on the TN or any turbo kit, nor would I run the 3.5 unless I made BIG power and couldnt keep the a$$ planted during the first few gears. Good luck in your decision. FWIW-I have afriend that had a TN kit fabricated on his 06' REVUP (street tuned at the moment)-that thing pulls HARD, too bad I never had a chance to race him....

Any updates, as the dates get nearer to the release of the rev-up TN kit i will be looking at getting a basic stage 1 and starting at those power levels.
If anyone else still have their single turbo and a 3.9 FD. I would like to hear a continued update. I am resurrecting this older thread!

Edit:
Here is my goal, there is no such thing a HP goal for me and I am not building a drag car I want a 120+ trapping vehicle, timeslips dont worry me, nor does how well I can launch, I goto the track maybe once a year for fun! I drive the car 20 minutes to work everyday..... ultimately with a built motor a 130+ trap speed.
In theory wont i reach a 120+ trap quicker with a 3.9 gearing a less hp??
