So what are you guys running for top and second ring gaps for your forged and boosted motors?

 

does depend on the ring, but usually 20-22 thous top ring, 18-20 thous 2nd ring....


arias has changed their ring suppliers a few times, the ring end gaps have varied slightly depending on the brand (material of ring)

Fine..go ahead and give away all of the secrets...haha. We run 1.5 inch gaps on our engines.....

yah, we actually don't use measuring tools, we have a little hamster that sits on our workbench, when he squeels a certain pitch we know we have grinded the rings far enough, it's worked so far... that's why we build such great engines
