Hakan,

We can definitely take care of you.We can custom build anything in our shop.We do not just bolt parts on cars.Like I told you we can make you a hood with venting to remove excess heat inthe engine bay, we can make an intercooler designed for the FX and all the appropriate piping. Need an intake manifold, not a problem we will build that too.Want a fuel cell, no problem. Like I said we can build ANYTHING in our shop.

Mike and Scott at VRT,

You guys had your chance with this guy and VRT wanted way too much $$$$$$. So he emailed us.There is no reason you guys should even be posting on this thread. It does not concern VRT or JWT. He did not ask about the JWT kit.He asked about our kit and out of respect for me I would think that you guys would leave it at that but no.........Amazing, really..............But that is cool, I see how it is.

Tim

Well said Tim!

Hakan,

SFR is an amazing company on many different levels. Besides the fact that they have top notch fabricating capabilities, they have been doing this for a long time and treat every car like it was their own, prepping it with the care and attention one would on a show car. there is no one else in southern california that I would trust my VQ with, and believe me, I have been in the tuner/import scene for a long time and I do my homework. I don't want to turn this into a commercial, like some vendors have the tendancy to do, just give friendly advise and wish you the best!

Good luck with everything!!

So anyone from or using the SFR kit comment on the original post? The orginal post says open to comments so if anyone wants to take the posts in this thread personally I don't see why.

It sounds like a cool kit, but I have read very little about the SFR kit and I would like to hear more owner comments on the kits power, reliablity and install. The owners of the kits are not as vocal as the other TT kits out there, maybe they're not on the forums or they're out enjoying the rides too much to post.

Default SFR kit

Hi everyone,
I just want to clarify some things.. just a little patience with me as this post is long.

I have been on these forums for a few months and fairly new to 350z forum. I am aware that a lot of people know each other personally and people can meet to discuss things on a personal way in national or regional meetings.
I have to say that I met great people people who are like me .. willing to trade information, experience and guidance in newbees. Being outside the US has the downfall of not being able to come and speak to each supplier on a personal basis. So my only way of getting info is through these forums and my local tuning people.
I have also spoken to many of the vendors and tuners in the US either on e mail or via phone. I know the best option is to have my car there to get worked on but that will cost me almost $10,000 of hard earned money.. so I have been looking for custom builders or kit builders who are willing to take the time and go through with me during the learning and decision making curve...
I am trying to get the best, most reliable system for the best value of the money..
I do need someone who is willing to do test fitting, etc and explain what I am getting into. I am not a mechanic but an engineer myself (OSU) so things that I purchase... I must understand.. I am not a guy who can just throw the money and say give me 500hp.. need to understand advantages and disadvantages..

So trying to find what is best for me.. spoke with many manufacturers... and I just wanted to get information about SFR system.. I know about VTR through Rookie.. he is very happy.. Nissan Turbo shootout review also supports that.. At the same time supports SFR, Turbonetics, APS, Greddy and others' setups..

So no hard feelings please.. I would hate to put people against each other.. Just looking for the best set up for my baby who wants to be a monster..
Please let me know your thoughts about SFR..

Thanks
Hakan

Hakan, I hear what you are saying about being told: "10,000 = ~400whp" ... I know where you're coming from. Don't worry about people getting upset, ... there is a history between SFR and VRT that most people aren't aware of.....

That being said, ... I have personally talked with Tim and simply put, I asked if I could have "this", or how about "that", ... and he was very clear about what he could do, ... explaining what he could make in order to suit my needs. [What he could make] He does all the fabricating in his shop, ... if something doesn't fit, ... he fixes it on the spot. That's probably what you are looking for IMO. He's also happy to explain anything you have questions about in detail, or as much detail as one can understand. In your situation being overseas, and knowing you are going to have to have someone 'work' with you on fabricating a kit, ... I think you'll be safe working with SFR. The JWT kit is nice too, ... but it's just not available to people on the open market.....

So that is just my personal opinion and experience with Tim and SFR, ... i was just some guy that walked in off the street, and asked a bunch of questions, he gave me all the answers i wanted and then some, ... plus took me for a ride in his TT'd Z.
Hope that helps....
Sean

Hi Sean,
Thanks for the note..
well if $10,000 =400 hp was enough it would be great but that 10K is only to send car there and back. .transport only.. plus much more for the TT set up.. So need to have things test fitted there and sent here .. max I can afford is may be to pay for ticket to fly someone over to have it overseen and tested with me providing a full equipped shop.
So I just dont like being told give me 20-30K and I ll give you 400 hp.. need to walk through it.
You are in bagdad? serious...be safe.....
Hakan

Anyone care to post up some links with pics and detailed information on the SFR TT set-ups? I believe that's what Hakan wants to find out more about. My curiosity is peaked also. Forum guru's please don't post up "do a search", just help the man out. He said he's new. Searching can sometimes be a pain for newer members.

Anyone?

hey USED, ... nice sig!!

Hakan, I'm trying to stay safe!!! It might sound kinda crazy, but the reason I have not bought parts for my G yet is b/c I want to make sure I make it home alive before I spend the money!!
Anyhow, the search here kinda sucks anyway, ... if it's not a recent topic, it's really hard to find....
I'm sure you've been to the website: http://www.speedforceracing.com
Decent pics of the kit in various stages of install....

There are some posts on g35driver.com as well....
The red G in the DSport Mag is 'Tinamn's' car: http://www.tinmanpage.com
That's one person off the top of my head that you could ask/PM ....

If you do a Screen Name search for TurboTim under the advanced search, https://my350z.com/forum/search.php?searchid=1746925 , you'll get posts that Tim has posted in, and that will narrow down the threads, and then you just have to read through that stuff, ... there is, unfortunately, all the "propaganda" B/S that a certain shop continued to butt in on any SFR threads that you have to sift through....

You could also ask opinions from shops/tuners such as MRC or Forged Internals (a couple off the top of my head) about SFR products, .... maybe they will post up here.

From the website

Now can some of the gurus speak on the kit? Kit owners chime in as well? I have a JWT kit, but that doesn't mean I don't want to learn about the other products on the market. Any word on the how the manifolds are holding up since they are not cast?

How the heck does that tank between the turbos act as an oil return system? Is there a scavange pump hidden somewhere?

... we don't even know what that motor is ..... meaning if it were built or not, ... or if it was even meant to last at 15psi.......

But look at that torque at 2500RPM!!!

Why would you say that motor won't hold at 13.6 PSI? If I remember correctly it is a fully built motor.

You say he is going to fabricate something in his shop to fit on the FX and ship it to Istanbul? If it gets there and doesn't fit then what? VRT has a kit that does and will fit on the motor.

Hakan, I know Michael told you that we can do the build up here with the TT setup and we can have a mechanic come over there just like you said and oversee it and make sure that everything is done right.

This does not need to turn into a pissing contest between anyone. The bottom line is that Hakan needs to be happy with what he decides to go with and no it is not going to be cheap considering where he lives and what he wants to do. There are obviously many different ways to go about this and this is by far the best place to have an open forum on what needs to be done and the best way to do it.

From what I read in the Dsport article there is a scavenge pump somewhere in the system since the turbos are placed low. No one has ever mentioned what it sounds like.

Please keep it civil so the thread doesn't get locked. Most of the kit discussions draw out some pretty passionate owners defending the kits, can some SFR owners please chime in?
