Synth19,
great question.. I wanted to know about this as well.. I ll take my 'to be TTed'' (+600hp) FX to a 3000 mile beating , I was wondering if having TT would cause me problems..
I know SC s have belt issues..
Just out of curiousity..
What is the common problem with TT's on long runs?
At high constant speeds.. ?
What typically go wrong and usually quick fixes?

about the only thing that could pose a problem over any other motor would be heating up the oil from constant load and heat soak. an oil cooler will cure this easily.
if something goes wrong, either have tools or your in for a long trip in a tow truck, lol.

I consumed nothing but energy drinks, water and beef jerky for those days. I didnt get tired until I got to Jacksonville where I visited with a friend.

geta nice tool kit with all the basic you'll need to bypass your turbo/supercharger if need be. I have had many breakdown on supercharged mustangs in the past. I learned my lesson. always keep a wrench for tightening and reattaching hose clamps, a 10mm wrench, a phillips head, plus a few more essentials.

Like USN, I have done a cross country trip (VA - CA) in 3 days and a few trips up and down the East Coast (FL - NH) runs with mine. For the most part I ran 7.5 PSI and drove pretty hard.

I will say this..... DO NOT take any chances on crap gas in the central regions of the country. I had to run 89 octane and popped my motor in Wyoming pretty bad. It was my fault, I should have looked into the gas thing earlier or turned my boost down to 5 PSI, stayed out of boost and gotten a tune for 89 octane gas... I didn't and had to pay a couple $$$$ to get the car transported back to MD to be fixed.

Take some octane booster (good stuff not that crap you get in gas stations) with you for emergency fuel ups.

I might mention that when Mike at AAM tuned my UTEC, he created a map for 89 octane gas if I happened to be traveling and couldn't get better gas. Good insurance.

I went over 300 miles at Road Atlanta this past weekend! No problems with my FI 350Z, there where plenty of other FI cars that had problems:

2 - SC Silvia's - one had brake problems, other had transmission problems
1 - SC Miata - engine bay caught on fire
1 - SC NSX - Smashed into wall at turn 12

And I was hitting speeds over 140 mph on the back streatch. Don't know if this counts as a road trip, but sure does talk about the endurance of the FI Z car!

Well I did drive the car up and back 300 miles each way towing a trailer with my tires and tools on it.
