Is the knock amp really necessary? I know it makes tuning @ the midrange a bit easier, but a must?

Tuning at this level, I wouldnt even consider the FCON without the knock amp/wideband. The FCON has some pretty sophisticated adaptive learning processes, and needs these items.

I have a Fcon with no knock amp going on FI for about a year and a half stock block, and i live in texas..ITS HOT. I was told i didnt really need it because i live 5 minutes away from my tuner, now if you livemore than 2 hours away from a vpro tuner, ide get the knock amp. Maybe i wasnt clear when i was told this, but if your car starts running to rich, the knock amp cant pick/read something, and then you have to go get a retune to calibrate it again..maybe im wrong..i got the VPRO its the chit
