Stock PCV's don't necessarily hold boost well. Many leak at over 7 lbs or so. APS is constantly developing products for the Z

Do they have any data or proof of the stock valve actually causing problems?

They tested numerous valves and most were prone to leaking around 8 lbs and beyond -

cool little product there.
i pressure tested mine last year and it didnt leak, but i cant remember what pressure i tested it to. this is a good thing for everyone to have tho, since its cheap insurance... you wouldnt want to trust that little plastic POS stock one for very long.
keeping pressure out of your crankcase will improve ring sealing, reduce oil consumption, and improved crankcase vacuum can make a little power too.

the best thing to do would be to actually reroute that entire PCV setup, since it vents to the manifold it will not get vacuum when you want it the most, under boost. It should be ran to a vacuumed catchcan if you want the most complete setup, but thats a lot of plumbing for something that isnt currently presenting an issue.

that is what I did. put a breather on the valve cover (picked it up at Advance auto parts) and stuck a nipple cover
