Thanks everyone. Only time will tell how all this works out. And of course I will be giving rides when traffic permits.

Sharif: I can only hope the 800rwhp is around the corner… if so, it looks to be a long sweeping right hand turn…

The old engine definitely had the **** beat of out it. I think she held together pretty damn good, all things considered.

Radio: I know what your going through man. I called once and heard a lot of cussing going on in the background. Apparently Frank was having a hell of a time with the main harness, In the end he pulled everything and will rewire the whole thing to clean it up. He said it was like a birds nest under the dash next to the firewall.. LOL Good luck with your build too man.

Chim: I hope to make NOPI alright, but it won’t have that much HP, because I will need to break the engine in first before cranking up the boost. As for the SwainTech cost, you can find an overall listing here
http://www.swaintech.com/store.asp?pid=10971
The answer depends on what coating you want and if you want the skirts treated also. I went for the “Gold Coat on the Dome & PC-9 on the Skirt = $52.50 each piston” plus the chambers/valves/springs and ports. If things had gong the way I really wanted I would have also done the cams, rods, crank shaft, manifolds and turbo housing along with the exhaust piping. But I was in a hurry at the time. They have a great turnaround time and the quality looks outstanding. I might even have the piping, turbo housing and manifolds done during the winter.

Turran: Yes I have the 1300kg twin carbon ATS clutch.. I will use this until it gives out and then see about replacing it with the triple carbon when the time comes. Keep in mind I will only be using 650whp on the streets for drivability reasons. Not to mention the 800whp tune will be taking into account race fuel and the Cryo cooling.

Thanks again everyone and I hope to see you all on the streets sometime early September.

Not a problem Chim.
Davidv: Only if the pricing is shared by everyone could I do this again. Can not afford to cover the initial $1000 again like last time... And like I said on the other thread, I would be granny launching/shifting the whole way baby.... LMAO

LOL,
Jeremy, only way I would race for Pinks is if I personally put a hole in your block, flattened one of your tires and dumped some 87 octane gas in your car... See then it would be a fair race Other then that, no way would I risk it... Otherwise I would be like the kid in ‘Fast & Furious’: I would lose, and just keep on driving... The difference would be I wouldn’t go down as easily as that kid did..

I'm not saying that I wouldn't definitely beat you, it's just not worth the risk of driveline failure or miss-shifting and popping the engine.. J/K man.

One thing I learned from the last time I was at the track, I won't push my car like that again unless someone else is going to pay to get it fixed.

Hey brent,
Good to hear that your almost done with the motor. But 800? Lol that's crazy.. But we both have almost the same goal =) I get my motor this tuesday coming up. I waited a very long time. Hopefully I get the car up and running and come hang out with the big boys. I rememeber you saying that you were coming up with a brace for the ZR's. How did that turn out? Can't wait to see your car in person. There's only a few of us ZR's that are F/I well that I know of. Good luck on the 800 mark! Keep us updated

Hey man, Here is the website.

http://www.mirdrag.com/v2/rentals/

But the basic breakdown for a 2 lane rental is this:
Base Rate: 1-8 cars = $800 OR 9 - 16 cars = $1200 + $100 for each additional car
PLUS $400 for the ability to run both lanes at the same time...

So TOTAL COST would be: 8 or less cars = $1,200 OR 16 cars = $1,600 + $100 for each extra car. Last time I think I paid them about $2,500 for the day.

Jeremy, sorry it cost too much in Orlando. I Know MIR likes to get a # of clubs and semi pros out there during the week to 'test' their setups for the coming weekend's events.

Hey what is the deal with you triple disk clutch? Why r you changing your mind and what are you installing instead. I know you are shooting for some crazy HP and figure that triple disk would be perfect for you. I was considering it because there was some concern that shooting from 500 - 800 would be way too much for my current ATS Twin Disk setup.

hey man, if you want it, i can hook you up, i have $2400 dollars into it (my cost) and thats all i am trying to get. i just changed my mind and decided to go all out and put a TH400 in it. its a straightline car and thats all it will ever be from now on. it will lose some drivability but not too bad with my new tranny. i will let you know more in about two weeks when i get done.

if you have any problems with the twin disk, let me know, i have a handfull of people asking and wanting it, just no buyers for sure yet...

Default Update and ready to Spool.... :)

So here are some more pictures of the completed engine.

Just bare bones assembled, bright and shiny new looking…

As you can see we were not able to get the additional piping/ thermostat for the extra cooling passage. Apparently one of the pieces is on back order , so we will review the temps and if necessary add this later as the situation demands.

We will also see about coating the manifolds, turbo housing, and exhaust piping at the same time to help reduce engine bay temps. Unfortunately I simply did not have enough time (HA, now that is funny at this point) nor funds to have this done right now.
