Default A testament to Turbonetics ball bearing section and customer service..must read!

So I recently helped someone out locally (not on this board) who was a first time turbo owner and did a self install. He contacted me regarding some questions on install. Most of the fixes were easy until he mentioned that his turbo was loud and sounded like it had rocks in it. I had him check the oil feed to the turbo and there was no oil in the line. I verified where the oil feed line had been installed and it turns out it had been connected to the AAM pan spacer oil temp bung. Clearly this means no oil was getting to the bearing section of the turbo. The turbo was run for 200 miles like this before it finally gave way. The bearings are most likely toast after this. One other issue with the install was that the wastegate signal line had been installed on the incorrect port so in addition to running with no oil the turbo was being spooled to 12-16 PSI any time the car was loaded. Lucky for the owner no engine damage occured that we know of. I called Reggie at Turbonetics and of course Turbonetics will be replacing the turbo at no cost to the customer. Hows that for some customer service and one hell of a bearing section too!!

I just hear it a lot. This is why people should buy stuff from within the USA...atleast you know that the person whose selling you the goods speaks english.

Well to be honest not many manfacturers out there would have covered that. Turbonetics even covered a G owner a while back who totalled his car when some one hit him. Destroyed the intercooler and several boost pipes. Turbonetics replaced them all at no cost.

Who buys stuff directly from overseas? Whatever man. Most ppl buy foreign goods from authorized dealers in the U.S.

Turbonetics customer service is without a doubt top notch. If they made a TT kit, I bet they could corner the market.

For most things, the dealer still has to wait on the company producing the goods. Trust me, thats how it always is. I've learned to stay w/ local shops for work, and stay within the US for goods.

After my turbonetics install we found out the turbo came with a bent shaft in the turbo housing. turbonetics overnighted the new turbo no questions asked. very good customer service. Now I have an extra turbo. who refurbishes turbos?

And your always the first to ***** about personal attacks. I like you less the more I read.

Back on topic though customer service goes along way in either direction. I hope aps has to drop prices even more to make up for their lack of it.

Holy crap take some Midol....obviously the guy isnt smart enough to install his own kit-I know more about this situation than MIA posted, trust me this isnt the only issue with this guys install, its not that hard to follow directions! I dont know the guy who did this, or if he's even on the forums the gene pool comment was a joke, but your too uptight to take it that way. Save me the judgment as I could care less what you thought of me Dont like me, add me to your ignore listm last thing we need is guys whining like girls about things.

that's the key here. People have problems when their dumbass friends come in and say "oh that's not how you do it, my buddy's cousin did it like this on his turbo merkur".

The directions are pretty stupid proof. I read them in an exhausted stupor and was still able to get everything right the first time.

however, Bertie is still a fat slow bastage

Its guys like this who make inexcusable mistakes and then go around telling people what a POS their TN turbo is. Nice to know somebody got the point. Still have to give credit to TN for standing behind a misinstalled product! And yes Im slow

Its like a soap opera in here sometimes, sheesh. Another A+ for TN. MIA are there any "insider" plans to add a TT kit to the TN lineup?
