How many of you swap for wider rims and tires after upgrading to FI? I would imagine the stock wheels and tires are going to lack proper traction.

I am considering dropping a few dimes on a set of 19" Rays 10.5" (35-R275) rear and 9.5" (35-R245) front.

If I pull the trigger on the Rays, my stock 18" Anniversary rims and stock tires will be up for sale. Only 2340 miles on both.

 

I would go 255 and 285. Also, if you go 245 and 275, the tires will be stretched. Make sure you dont have too low offsets either if you want to be flush with the fenders and not have to slam your car.

 

I had wider rims since possible, the car handles and looks better overall, no matter if N/A or FI.... Go for it.

Why stop there - I'm using 18 x 9" & 18 x10.5" with
Michelin PS2 265/35/18 & 295/35/18 tires.

Tire brand & type is just as important as tire width.
I used Kumho Ecsta MX on track with good success - but they couldn't handle 400 rwhp.

 

Yea, tire selection is just as important. I've got Kumho Ecsta ASX's on my LMGT4's (275's in back) and traction is terrible in 1st and 2nd gear. I can't wait until these tires are bald so I can upgrade to a summer only tire.
