You shouldn’t have sold nothing you should have asked this question first but what is done is done. I like the Corvettes allot but I do love my Z and their is nothing more satisfying then beating the crap out of a muscle car and seeing how the owner reacts. Keep it and build it.

There will be anything you want to mod a C6 soon IMHO. America = less wait + Americans are drag fanatics. You could NA that C6 with what you were getting FI from the 350Z (correct me if I'm wrong please.)

Have I said how much I love the C6 targa?

Hey I've had a lot of issues with my Z also, from a blown motor to tuning issues, like you I've been to different shops to find the right one. I've pondered the decision to get a c6 also, but what changed my mind was when I went to a car show with my turboed Z and parked next to a stock C6 with some rims, I had at least twice the number of looks as the C6. And I paid less. Now that I went through GTmotorsports and had my car tuned and worked on 100% by them, the car is running beautifully. They took real good care of my car. And very impressed with Sam's dedication to getting the tune just right.

Either way you can't go wrong. I would love to see another built z tho. =) did you sell your aps tt kit? If so then buy the extreme =) I'm selling my kit for this reason. Motor is just waiting for bigger turbos and ems. Keep us posted on what your plans are.

Failsafe, I'd say go with a slightly used C6. Can't go wrong with an LS2.

Or better yet, here is my plan:
Once the prices drop below 20K I am picking up a used '05 GTO.

Now here is the fun part:
If you stick to 17's you can stuff 265's in the front and 295's in rear.
Willwood 6-pot front/4-pot rear can be had for about 3K.
Pedders full suspension package is about 1500-1600.
Hotchkis sways are less then 400.
There is a whole assortment of final drive ratios on the market.
With headwork, exhaust mods and tune you can get into low 12's.
At least as many FI options as there are for the Z.
Peter from APS has threatened the GTO forum with a 5500-6000$ full TT kit coming in the winter.
Not as expensive to mod as the Z and same mods yeild greater power (6L V8 vs. 3.5L V6).
Most of this crap you can do by yourself, so you'll save a ton of $$ on labor...

Plus with the GTO you get:
Great interior.
Blaupunkt stereo (better then Bose)
Real backseats.

And if the "pontiac" markings bother you so much, just do a Holden Monaro badging conversion, not any dumber then folks that swap out "350Z" for "FairladyZ".

Unless, of course, you absolutely HAVE to be "mad JDM tyte, yo..."

All a great plan except for the fact that the car weighs 400lbs more than an "already overweight" 350Z, and you'll have the "I love to eat oil" LS series motor. Not to mention the GTO is one of the most bland looking performance cars out there. Each to his own I guess...

But pontiac riced it up a bit with the hood scoops and quad tipped exhaust on the 06 models. Perfect for the redneck domestic ricer.

Seriously though, I don't mind the GTO. kind of a pig, but compared to the rest of the GM family, it ain't bad.

Chris, IMHO, get the vette, leave it alone and enjoy driving it

I think that 400 extra pounds is THAT big of a deal taking into consideration the power potential.
I would much rather watch my oil level as opposed to worrying about breaking a connecting rod every time I punch the gas.
As far as looks, I like the way it looks, but I am more of a fan of understatemnet, so this is subjective.
Bottom line, you cannot have good performance, good looks and a good price in a same car, it's more like "pick 2"...

It's only domestic by an association. They were all built in Australia. It is still a 2 door RWD car originally designed as RHD.

Get the C6. You've already been down the FI Z road and it turned out ugly. Time for a change. A supercharged LS2 would be badass. Think Mad Max.

Actually Mad Max will be the theme when I mod the GTO.
There will be a side exit exhaust and if I chose to go with a Magnusson blower, there will be a a hole cut into the hood with a removable cowl for the blower...

I already joined ls1gto.com. No blown motors at all on any FI kit. Not to mention that over 400whp is possible NA.

Drivetrain is 100% safe for upto 500-550whp. I already made the shopping list. Now the important part is to stay off the GTO boards until everything is done.
