Default Is this pulley normal???

I just noticed this today but I cant remember if it looked like this before the vortech sc install. It seems like the pulley is sticking out more than it is suppose to. It's the one with the yellow arrow. Please let me know, thanks.

Oh no, thats not right! Looks like the nut has found it's way off.
I think it should have a washer like plate on the front of it also.

No, it's the tensioner pulley. I sure wouldn't drive it, or even start it!
The tensioner adjuster bolt needs to be loosened, and that pulley needs to be re-set on the shaft.
I would be real carefull not to start it and have that fall off, it could tear some stuff up.

Whoa! I had that same thing happen on mine! I did not put Loctite on it and also forgot to put the washer on it. What I did was push it back to where it was supposed to be, put on washer and nut w/loctite and tighten. Then crank(but dont start!!!) the car a few times to align the belt. Thats what I did. I was a dumbass and was driving around like that to my tuner. Mine looked EXACTLY the same! Crazy. Be careful with that, if that comes off, then youre screwed, as thats not something dealers usually stock. I had broken the tensioner bolt itself and luckily a dealership overnighted me the only one east of the miss. Ahh, the joys of F/I!

same thing happened to me, i was at school and when i went back to my car, that tensioner was laying 2 feet away from my front bumper. I could not find the nut, so i basically had to have someone pick me up, drive all the way home, and come back with jack and jack stands to put the damn thing back on. It sucked ***, but i loctited that nut so im sure it'll never come off again, haha.

Do you have that washer? Its kind of a concave looking thing. Like a pie dish. Just get one of those nut/bolt kits from peps and a bolt that fits should be in there. If not go to Home Depot. How the Ultimate working out for you? A dealer can order individual parts, but they dont usually stock them so you may have to wait a while, or you may get lucky. I imagine that certain components of the tensioner assy are common between VQ's, but ask to be sure. Maybe an Infiniti dealer has one? They seem to have better part stockpiles in my area at least. Check a junkyard for a Max or Alti?

I got nada, lol. The EU is working just fine but I seemed to have some misfire at idle and I cant figure out why. I was thinking about throwing in some injector cleaners to see if it helps any (worth a shot).

From you picture it looks like you tension pulley is still there. It seems the washer and nut fell off which made the pulley come out as it turned. I might be wrong, but that's what it looks like to me. If you know how to loosen the belt, do that and try to wiggle the pulley back in as is should still be connected to the tension bolt. Then buy a washer and nut at a local parts store.
